2nd TACiversary!!
It is hard to believe that it has been two years since joining TAC! I am so thankful for Tony and his hard work to train and help so many people around the world on their guitar journey. My journey began as a strummer, which I found out by the way, is an ok place to be! Thanks to all the positive thoughts that saturate this community! Wherever you are is great so long as you are on this journey and are now going somewhere with it thanks to TAC. As I began, I did not know keys or how to use the capo correctly. Once I took the fretboard wizard course, I was able to change keys! I am now able to play in church any hymn that we choose, and can adjust my capo and chord shape accordingly. My finger style play has taken off and have now been able to accomplish one of my guitar dreams, which is play an instrumental solo before the church, melody and all! I have been able to do that a couple of times now. The greatest part about that though was the mindset I learned during the performance. When I hit a wrong note or string, Tony was in my head saying, “It’s ok. You are up here. You are doing it. That’s the win!” And with that I was able to smoothly get through the song, even when making a mistake. What a blessing! My goal for this year is to get progress in my improvisation skills as well as flatpicking skills. It has been an amazing 2 years and the most gratifying thing is when someone comes up to you and says they can tell you are getting better. We may not see it in the day to day, TAC fam, but the people around us will. And it is always cool to answer back to them, “10 minutes a day.” Thank you so much, Tony, for all that you do for us. Thank you for staying consistent in order to keep us consistent! GUITAR GEEKS UNITE!!!!
