Anybody have problems logging comments in the forums?
Posted by Loraine on January 12, 2022 at 3:24 pmOften I’ll tYpe a message only to have it highlight in a pink box, and it won’t post my comment. I’ve cleaered my history cache, logged out and back in, but once it happens I won’t be able to post any comments.

Yes @Loraine, it’s happened to me about 3 weeks ago, just before my TACiversary things started to go south. I had just posted about my disappointment when @deagle announced his departure and my displeasure about the the way things were going here to cause people like him to leave – Sometime shortly after that, I couldn’t post on the daily’s or in the forms – everything in a pink box – after taking the time to key in all of my well thought out comments, all the relative things I wanted to say – I was not happy to say the least. That’s why you haven’t seen a TACiversary story from me – in protest! So I went dark for about 5 days, then tried again – low and behold – I was able to post🤔 Made me think that the thought police were hovering around again (Big Brother may be listening) – so I better stop now😱

Yeah @Bill_Brown Sounds like the same problem. It happens a lot to me. I mentioned something to Victoria at TAC, but she said no one else had experienced it (or complained about it). I thought it was just a fluke, but it keeps happening. Very frustrating after having typed in a detailed reply. Oh well. Not sure if there are others, but I’d like to have it researched as to why and possibly fix the glitch.

yep, i got notified of your reply to my post, but was not able to pull it up

i saw a notification on my question from you, but never found he comment

@VictoriaTACTeam just an FYI that others have experienced the same issue getting a pink background and unable to post a reply in the forums.

Hi TAC Family –
Hope everyone is having a great day!
The next time you have an instance of this, please screenshot the error and shoot us an Email in TAC Support. support@tonypolecastro.com Please also let us know what Forum post you’re trying to comment to, as well as the device and browser being used.
In most every instance, when a TAC Member has had an issue like this, we have been able to post for them on our end with no issue. It is most likely that it comes down to devices/browsers. (Chrome is always most suggested.)
Suggestions prior to writing in will be to log out of TAC, clear your cache on your device, reboot, log in and try again. If you still have the same result…test by trying on a different device if you have one. After that, if you’re still getting the error, by all means write in with the info needed to troubleshoot.
I hope this helps! 😻

Hi @VictoriaTACTeam ,
Thank you for your reply. In this case, the thread is saskia’s “getting bored” thread, referenced above. Since I’ve seen this happen before, as soon as I saw the pink box I highlighted and copied the text of my reply to the clipboard and refreshed the page. The reply was still not there, so I logged out of TAC and back in, then tried to reply again by pasting the text into the response box. I got a message that said “Duplicate response,” so the forum database clearly thinks my reply is there, though nobody can see it. Saskia also indicated above that he was notified that there were responses, and he could not see them.
Taken together these are fairly strong evidence that the issue is server side.

Thanks so much for the reply @VictoriaTACTeam . You’re always so responsive, and I appreciate that.
I have to agree with @tailsawaggin that it sounds more like a server issue, especially when anotHer person receives notIfication of a direcT response on their forum posting, but there is nothing there when they go to read it. Also, Ive trIed clearing my history cache, logGing out and back in, and I still will not be able to post a message. Ive had this same issue wheTher I use my iPad, my android phone or my personal lapTop. I have Comcast as an internet carrier, and I’m using Google Chrome as my internet search engine. None of these are unique or different from what many others use wiThouT issue, so my conclusion is some sort of server glitch.
Please let me know if you have any questions or comments. I’ll try to remember to get screen shots when it happens again. I’ll have to figure out how to do that on my iPad and phone. Much easier on the laptop.
Have a great day!

Hi Loraine, I noticed that part of my profile had disappeared… it is back now. I don’t post much in the forums, but I did on the same @saslia “bored” player post as you. The reply I entered worked as normal but I didn’t get notification of @saskia‘s response (which they had entered). Hope things are back to normal again!

Thanks @solitaire – there seems to be a few glitches at play. Hopefully going forward things are better.

And of course the screenshot did not post with my reply. Frustrating.

I’ve been having this issue too. If I know that my answer might be a long one, I write it into Word and then copy paste. I wonder if it’s because too many people are posting at the same time? Good luck @Loraine figuring it out.
-
@cadgirl If it happens again, please let Victoria in Support know which Forum and conversation were you trying to respond to. She keeps saying that it’s not a TAC issue, but with so many people having the same issue, I’m pretty sure it’s a server issue on their end. But the more people that mention it to them, the more they’ll take it seriously and look into it on their end.
-
I was just on a forum that was having the same type of issue. Their Technical Support said it could be a bug. So… there could be a bug? But I’ll do as you ask and send issue to Tech Support if it comes up again.
