Barre chords
Well, I have been working on a song that requires the F#m and the G#m barre chords and I was getting frustrated with the barre chords so today I started out my practice with an alternate song, and tried it and low and behold the version that the lesson was in required an F#m barre chord so I said to myself, OK I will grin and bear the bar chord. It was from a lesson on stand by me in the key of A using 1,6,4, and 5. Any way the small win was I played the F#m chord clean the first time I strummed it today.
It did not hit me right away because I was concentrating on the transition. I had been working for several days on the previous song and just was not flowing. I was beginning to think I would not be able to play songs that required barre chords, hmmm, may get to rethink that

You’ve learned a valuable lesson there @Dirk_R as I’ve found as well. Concentrating “too much” can cause the brain and the body to go out of synch. The same is true if you have a “death grip” on the neck. Nope, the guitar is a relaxed instrument and you should try to be relaxed when you play it. Not paying attention to where you have to put down the fingers will, after a bit of slow and concentrated practice, come naturally if you let the body do the leading and leave the mind out of it. I don’t know if that’s true for everyone but it certainly works for me (and you too it sounds like)!

Congratulations on your barre chord win Dirk_R! 🏆 I really don’t like barre chords, they are a pain.
