Kitman–
Two things– (least important one first)
1. Well, I’m a little embarrassed– there I was in a previous thread giving YOU advice😜! 2. Man– that was nothin’ less than fantastic! THAT is where most all of us want to get to someday I think. Me for sure. I am also a huge fan of the Avett Brothers- their music is, well, like THAT- quirky, cool, simple/fun.
That was great! Thanks for giving us another “brass ring” to go for.

Thank you for the kind words @the-old-coach .
I was really nervous recording it and scared to death to post it. I have been a dabbler for a long time and haven’t taken the time to improve my skills, technique, quality and consistency. I am very self conscious playing for or in front of other people.
And regarding your advice, I really do appreciate it and have thought about it many times over the last 4 days: slow down, focus on quality and consistency, speed will come in time, have fun! Coach, your advice and encouragement is just what I needed to hear. As a result I am approaching each session to meet myself where I am now vs where I think I should be – trusting the system and having fun.
And, I love this community! I feel like I have found my people!

@Kitman Excellent performance and cover. Your strumming was well timed and smooth, and great vocals. You should be very proud of yourself, and hopefully future videos won’t be so scary.

That was a superb job @Kitman 👏👏👏 The way you played and sang that was like you’ve been doing it for a long time🤩 Most people act nervous when recording and posting for the 1st time here (and you can see it)😱, but your’s was smooth as silk😎

Thank you @Bill_Brown ! On the inside I was really nervous. Thanks for your kind words and encouragement! 😃

That was great for a first post Kitman! 👏 Your playing was awesome. Hope to see more videos posted in the future! 🙂

great job!! I love it when “first videos” get posted. So many wonderful musicians here.
-
Great singing and such a steady rhythm, Kitman. That was really good!
-
Thank you @Jonathandavid . I was playing with a metronome and one of my goals is to play in time. I really appreciate your feedback!

I loved it! … I’m ashamed to say I never heard of the Avett Brothers, but you’ve made me an immediate fan. The more I watch and hear my fellow TAC family members play, the more I believe I have finally landed in the right spot for learning to play guitar. Thank you All!!!
-
That was really well done. No need to fear posting…sounds great!
-
Thank you @BobbyJ . I also am truly inspired by everyone’s posts. The Avett Brothers have some great songs to play along with.

The Avett Bros’ songs are indeed great. My faves- No Hard Feelings, Backwards with Time, and Murder in the City. I’m sure there are more………..
Slightly-tilted-orbit kind of tunes😜 that I love!

Those are really great songs @the-old-coach . There are a couple that rotate through my guitar strumming list: Ten Thousand Words, Laundry Room and I would like to learn Brooklyn.
-
Don’t remember the first two there, but “Brooklyn” is also one of my favorites. Right on!

Nicely done @kitman! No need to feel shy or nervous if you are able to play and sing like that! Here on TAC, even if you were not as “talented”, everyone is here to encourage everyone else! Have fun strumming and singing, too! 🙂🎶👍

That was sounding pretty smooth to me. Great vibe and consistency. Like that song too. Not one I’ve heard before.
