Guitar whiskers
Posted by Moonhare on July 19, 2021 at 12:24 pmWore out my first set of strings so restrung with light gauge D’addarios. Now I need to find the wire cutters and give it a short back and sides.

Great job restringing @Moonhare . Many great musicians choose to just leave the whiskers after a quick string change during performance.

Surprising how different it feels. I think it came with coated strings which were easier to slide but harder to get pull offs. I didn’t realise it would make so much difference.

Very nice @Moonhare
You just have to get it a little trim, and you are good to go again. A beautiful guitar by the way! I love the colors.

Thanks – it was my present to myself for 50 days of TAC. Tobacco sunburst is stunning.

@Moonhare Next time try a set of Santa Cruz strings. I think you would be amazed. It’s pretty much what I use on most of my guitars.

Thanks @Marty69 . I have never heard of them so I will definitely give them a try.

It’s best to clip those long strings before you poke an eye out.

😂 I hadn’t thought of the helath and safety aspect! All safe now though.
