So it is Labor Day and I’m trying to think of Labor Songs. Woodie Guthrie, Pete Seeger, and even Merle Haggard come to mind. “Sticking’ to the Union”, “Stuck in the Big Muddy”, “Workin’ Man Blues”? . Can you add others? Just for fun… What about “We shall overcome” or is that more about civil rights?

@Loraine read my mind. 😂 How about “Sixteen Tons,” “Working in the Coal Mine,” or “King of the Road?”

Hey, if you search back in the “Play For Us” forum, you’ll see that @Philb does an awesome rendition of “Sixteen Tons” – well worth the time to search it out👍🤩👍

I always liked The Strawbs “Part of the Union”

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Part_of_the_Union

The song was written with genuine celebratory intent, in support of the unions.[2]

Great suggestions to you one and all. I’ve been on guitar tabs working through them. Thanks for you playful union spirit.
