Hi Melvin O; I don’t know if Tony read your message, but it caught my attention. When I first joined TAC, I was unsure how I was doing. I wasn’t sure if I was making any progress. I think I am, and I have a hunch you’re doing okay, too! I’ve come to the conclusion we’re all relying on each other for help, guidance and
support. Have fun, keep practicing, and best wishes to you on your guitar journey!

Hi Melvin – Hope you’re doing well. Since Tony might be unable to respond directly, I’d like to welcome you to the TAC community. It sounds to me as if you’re doing a great job with the lessons, and Im sure you’re exactly where you’re meant to be at any given moment. We”re all on individual journeys, some similtar but many different from each other. As long as you’re able to practice at least 10 minutes per day at a minimum, then you are progressing. How quickly or how slowly is each individual’s personal journey. Keep doing what you’re doing!

@Melvin O , I think the Forums are just the community. We can ask admin help and get answers but on the whole we are on our own. The questions help us all out. What I did when I started was make a log in excel (I’m a computer gal), but you can write it in a note pad too. That means every day accountability. Are you doing the challenges? And how long? Are you doing any of the skills and what and how long? REMEMBER, the daily challenges go away after the next month starts! Add the little favorite heart to it or print it out. You can favorite each and every one of them if you like.

Your right it’s a lot to digest, but you’ll get there.

Welcome to TAC @Melvin O You’re on track! Everyone here is at a different level of playing.

The best advice I can give you is to record yourself playing something, anything. Then put it away. Don’t review it for a couple of months. Then when the 2 months or so have passed. Play and record the same thing again. Now compare the two. You will see how much you have learned in just a short time. Just my 2 cents.

P.S. And if you run into a snag… the Forum is the best place to go to get help!

    Welcome Melvin ( @[email protected] ),

I was wondering if you have taken the skills course titled “5 Day Guitar Routine Challenge”. That course will give you the direction so you know you are doing what you need to do. If you are having fun and playing guitar every day then you are being successful. And that leads to progress which leads to more fun and more success.
