Original “Tough Pick” Demo
Posted by TMutter on October 3, 2023 at 4:10 pmThis one popped up yesterday. A tribute to the dreaded Guitar Acquisition Syndrome. Wanted to get a quick recording before I forgot melody and phrasing which happens when I think I will remember a tune and the next morning…. POOF…. gone !😆

@charlie_d thanks ! It is super fun to play. Its funny sometimes I write a song and I have a hard time memorizing it. This one came so fast I had it memorized almost instantly I think because the story flowed quickly and there are some play on words like “far better looking when looked at from afar” that just connect easily for me. Thanks for listening!

@TMutter i have to say that is a good job on a fun song. Technique is great. That one should be in your playlist if it isn’t already.

I am recording a couple of other new songs now and this one is up next. I have a mandolin player lined up and plan on taking the tempo up a notch and go towards a blue grass feel. I am going to play it live for the first time at an open mic in a few weeks and see how it lands.

@TMutter Terry, I think back to what I consider to be just a short time ago )feels like yesterday), and your playing, lyrics, as well as your vocals have improved exponentially. What a difference from the beginning where your vocals and playing were much flatter, and your topics were all based on recent losses. You allow your mind to be show you so many visions or to hear a lyric or create a poem, which most do not have the capability, because we have restraints placed on us by people, groups, religious organizations or other institutions, and political parties. Most of us are prisoners to the poison of society and limitations that are placed on us. Ilove your creativity in your lyrics, as well as your composition of chords fo so many Somgs. How you’re able to pull things together so quickly blows my mind. I’m not trying to place you on a pedestal, but your definitely a few steps on the grand staircase of guitar journeys than I am.
Just a joy to listen to and watch. I really hope your talents take you someplace big.. Awesome work!

Loraine, as always thank you so being so supportive. I have always received such great feedback from all the “Geeks”, along with being so inspired by how hard everyone works to continue their journey – it is not hard to find the motivation to continue to try and improve !
