TACiversary #3
This week marks my 3rd TACiversary (and 813 playing sessions) having joined as the world entered lockdown, which was a catalyst for me really embracing TAC. Prior to joining TAC I had noodled around for decades not really accomplishing anything with regard to playing guitar. The free time I had in 2020 allowed me to take on TAC and really appreciate the consistency that is required to improve playing guitar.
I have made a real effort to abide by a schedule, playing for at least 40 minutes a day and to ensure that I have learned something new. This is where the 5 weekly exercises become so important for progress. My playing abilities have really improved over this period, I feel more confident in my abilities which opens new doors.
My real focus has been learning fingerpicked country blues. I’ve made good headway but have a way to go to where I want to be. Also, I’ve learned a lot of technique but not leveraged learning songs the way I’d like to, so that is a focus for the current quarter.
Post lockdown my time to learn and play was reduced by work and other demands, but with focus and determination I know I can get to where I want to be.
Without TAC I’d still be occasionally noodling around, fortunately that’s not the case. Looking forward to more success and fun in 2023!
