TACiversary Year One!!
My TACiversary was January the 9th and I can’t belive it has been one year!! I decided to start playing guitar as a New Year’s resolution for 2021 and I am very glad that I did! I had a guitar that my wife bought for me over 20 years ago. I barely touched it the past 15 years…or more! I knew a few cords and could play a couple licks but that was about the extent of it.
As part of my journey I knew I needed lessons of some sort to get me started and keep me moving along. I started searching online and watching videos on YouTube when I came across one of Tony’s ads…I usually skip ads as soon as prompted. However, I liked what I heard in first couple seconds of the ad and listened to the rest. Tony had me hooked and I joined the TAC family!
TAC has been the perfect fit my guitar journey and busy work schedule. I love the teaching style and positive approach. While I haven’t been able to practice every day of the week due to travel, I am sure to make up the lessons I missed and complete all the lessons each month.
When I look back on year one I am amazed at my progress. I can actually play a couple songs, I have learned how to fingerpick (which I hated at first), and I can transition through cords much easier than I ever thought possible. One of my biggest wins is being able to play bar chords…not great yet but I can make the shapes and play the chords…even transition decently from time to time!
One of the things I wanted to accomplish this year was the ability to play guitar with my family when we gather for the Holidays. I was able to that this year…playing rythym guitar and having fun with the other players in the family. I also have become a guitar geek…even bought a new guitar this year…the beginning of a guitarsenal!
I plan to continue my progress and consistent practice this year. I also hope to complete the Fretboard Wizard course when it is available. I can’t thank Tony and the TAC family enough. The building blocks of what Tony teaches really come together when you use the TAC methods and start playing songs…you will be amazed at what you have learned. This has been a fun year and I am looking forward to more guitar growth in 2022!
