I am confused about that too. My nickname isn’t what is showing up. It’s what I put for my first name.
-
-
Also – when Tony throws a dart at the page of folks who completed the monthly challenge, will he see my photo plus my first name or nickname?
-
Hi Stephen – He’ll see your nickname at the time of dart throwing, but they have access to your account and your real name.
-
Not sure what’s going to happen since the monthly TAC parties are no longer a thing. They’re quarterly now. So, don’t know if they’ll be throwing 3 darts, one dart for 90 days, or no darts.
-
Where was that mentioned? I know they are going to “goal review” every quarter but I thought the monthly parties would still be monthly.
-
It was mentioned in the TAC Webinar 3.0. Only 90-day Guitar Progress Parties. You’d think that they’d mention monthly parties as a benefit during the sales pitch if they were keeping monthly.
-
You would also think they’d mention the chance to win a guitar for each month of lessons completed.

Confused about nicknames as well – so spaces can’t be used in nicknames? And like the rest of you, all I see if my first name showing up on posts. Seems like it should be the nickname that is associated with posts.
-
Yeah, I had that no same problem too. So I tried a dash, but that name didn’t show up here either.
-
I tried to use ‘Dave White’ – but the software said that name was not valid (I am assuming the space is no longer allowed – it is not in the list of approved characters). I added a dash – the dash shows up for me (in my profile) – but not on the forum. I see lots of member names with spaces.
-
I changed my first name to ‘Dave White’ and now it appears that way in the forum. Apparently, it is only your nickname that does not allow spaces.

Yes, the whole nickname thing doesn’t appear to be what I thought it would be either. The lack of the “space” being allowed takes away from what a nickname could be. And just using the first name doesn’t work since it said there is another Sharon already logged

Interesting, and thanks for the input all.
For me, at the moment, It took my name and Nickname in the update of my profile, but it does not find me in the flagging, yet and name lists. I reported it to Admin, and i am sure it is a glitch, but it finds another T. someone, not me.
I am using the same Nickname and first name, so I did not track that @michael k73 (and no list appears so who knows who I just flagged when I hit post) and your information is helpful regarding what to look for in the process of learning.
I suggest this is an issue to throw to the “What’s New?” post as they asked for feedback in comment to that.
At least it is nice to see some of us made it through the black hole. Hoping for progress.
@T.J

Yep, you can’t be on my posts, Michael K73. That was sort of what I was trying to point out to Admin.

Nickname appears to be more inline with “username” as you can log in with your nickname
-
interesting thought Brandon, I hadn’t tried that yet. It does not appear to work for me, but I will keep looking.

I’m wondering the same… hope you all don’t mind if I test it out here 🙂

Hello Stephen and everyone else on this thread;
I just figured out how to get my “nickname” to work. It says that <i style=”font-weight: bold;”>only the characters a-z, 1-9, -,_, and . are allowed. The letters, numbers, hyphen, underscore, and period. That means <i style=”font-weight: bold;”>NO spaces. That’s what I was doing wrong. I kept putting a space after my first name, so nothing else showed up. Now, I have @Mike-Gaurnier and it’s recognizing that nickname.
-
Well my nickname “staustin” was fine, it just didn’t show up as the title of the post, my first name “Stephen” was used instead. I will post this and see what happens.
-
Still using my first name, which is not unique. But maybe that is ok – for the purposes of posts, if it shows my first name and my photo, that is unique enough. I am using my 3rd grandson as my photo right now, I will have to take a new one of me!

thanks for that Mike, but still doesn’t work. It now reliably brings up T.J. Dutton, every time. The other 3 that were there are now gone. I am never on the list, and my name and Nickname match the criteria you described.
