Guitar Inspiration • Artist #1
Beppe Gambetta
When i discovered Beppe it was a treat of the highest level. A flatpicker, a fingerpicker, a human Swiss Army Knife when it comes to guitar. This artist is one who every time you think you know what they are going to do during a solo or even rhythm guitar you get surprised. Beppe is super fun to listen to and someone who I think you should know for sure!!!
Here are some albums by Beppe to check out:
➜Live at the Teatro Della Corte
➜Round Trip (Beppe Gambetta and Tony Mcmanus
➜Blu di Genova
And here he is with another great, Tony McManus
And here he is playing his arrangement of a classic tune, and telling a great story about Montana
One more for good measure

I saw Gambetta play a show in our little community center about 6 years ago. It was a real treat. We don’t get musicians of his caliber out here in the sticks too often. It was great to hear this full ethnic Italian man absolutely slay straight up American bluegrass.
Full on flatpicking genius!
This rocks, you guys! Thank you.
Wow!! Sleeping Tune is a beautiful piece of music……. can’t get enough
Great, now I have to listen to all the music from Beppe Gambetta, Tony Rice, and Norman Blake. so much music, so little time.
Bravo! Very motivating for me. It reminds me that, failure is temporary, quitting is permanent. In order to be at this level of guitar proficiency I have to keep going. Get knocked down 10 times, get up 11! Failure is an event not a person.
Simply awesome!
Excellent stuff. Thanks, Tony!
Sick talent right there! His awareness of chording is nothing short of amazing.
Just added a Beppe channel to my Pandora account.
HAHA; where did his accent go? IMPOSTER!
In all seriousness great inspiration thank you.
Besides His Awesome musicianship…
He just seems to be having the time of his life with his guitar…Well done Beppe…!!
Thx Tony…!!
He’s great.
Hills of Tara did it for me.
I really like Sleeping Tune
It blows my mind how imaginative some players are, and how the guitar seems to be an instrument without limitations whatsoever. Very cool to be exposed to great talent!!
Very inspiring, love to check out his fingrer picking.
My first trip to Inspiration Station. What a ride! Thanks Tony!
I have had my guitar for a year but am totally new to flat picking. Really enjoyed watching his picking hand!
Well it is too damn good to talk about. Can’t stop listening great inspiration
Beppe used to be a regular at the Walnut Valley Music Festival (Winfield KS) when I was attending in the mid to late ’90s. He is a warm friendly person with a great sense of humor. We have an autographed Italian Cook Book he had one year, plus sever CDs. Beppe would regularly walk around and jam at the campfires after the main stages closed. Amazing person and monster talent! What a nice way to start this course.
Beaultifull !
Very nice!
Such a pleasure to listen to. Most definitely inspirational. Will make an awesome new addition to my regular playlist.
This is great! I had heard his name but never his playing. Really nice. Great ‘country’ accent in his singing too.
Sleeping tune is great!
That first video reminds me of Steve Howe.
So inspiring and it makes me appreciate trying to learn this awesome instrument even more. Tony and Beppe together in total unison….sweet.
I am captivated by his rhythm techniques
Amazing! The combined session with Tony M. was a magical play of talent and emotion – very moving. Thanks for the treat!
Simply great. Somewhat unbelievable what he can do.
soothing to the ear…..purchased cd for easy driving ..incredible talent
sweet
I’m very happy to have discovered Beppe Gambetta! I’m a big fan to Doc Watson so his handsome molly version is amazing.
Thank’s Tony
Man he’s got some crazy right hand action going there on Handsome Molly! Come to think of it he’s got both hands working it on all the songs. Very nice!
Man it’s hard to believe the sounds were really coming from his one guitar on the Church St. song,
Beppe Gambetta, certainly is an inspiration to all up and coming guitar players and gives us hope that anyone can get to that superb standard of playing.
Thanks Tony for pointing us to such an outstanding artist. Got inspired for the whole weekend now!
Fabulous ! An inspiration fer sure
dj
Outstanding artist.
Thanks for the exposure to such a great player. The first video opened my eyes wide to where an acoustic guitar can go in the right hands. The harmonics that he played, and the sixth string bends were just crazy. The last video showed his speed and accuracy, and the sound of his guitar is sick.
Thank you tony; what an excellent addition to TAC! What an inspiration! I look forward to the weekly additions.
Wow, that’s inspiring!
Fantastic! Thank you for sharing this with the community.
Wow. Great way to start my Sunday 🙂
Fantastic! What a great artist, his guitar sounds and looks great.
Really GREAT!!! never ceases to amaze how far someone can take this instrument and inspirational to all of us on the journey.
what fun at the end of my struggle with my little half hour!! great and he’s so, so fast with his picking. terrific–i will always listen after practicing.
SO talented, and SO enjoyable to listen to! Really nice singing voice that compliments the guitar very well! 😀
Oh, this was gooooood. Going to look forward to this every week!
In one word: awesome! Splendid idea, Tony, to let us taste this fantastic stuff!
