I hope you heal up soon and completely

Been done so many times because it is a great song! Still great when you do it 😀

I’m really sorry you had a hard time with the chat, and zoom overall. For me it was a positive experience. It was cool to meet new TAC members, and to chat during the call while listening to the stories others had to share. My only feedback would be longer in the break-outs.
I hope next time it goes much smoother for you.

I own a Gretsch Jim Dandy, which I love. it is small boxy comfy. action is high enough to play slide, low enough to finger pick. It came goldie loxed like that.
As far as tone, it is boxy and a bit basey, it sounds a bit better than a cheap old guitar (which I found myself disappointed that it didn’t sound worse… just no pleasing some people).
If I had it to do again, I would still purchase a Jim Dandy, or Maybe a Gin Rickey because of that dirty sounding pickup it comes with…. But hey I can add a toaster pickup to it, and I am only in about $200-$300 on the guitar!
As for the “nicer” guitars that go along these lines… They probably would sound way too nice for me to feel like I was playing an old catalog Stella from the 30’s. I’d be sad… I love my Gretsch.

WOOT! Nice win!
I can’t seem to do that with melody. I can feel out a picking pattern for a song sometimes but not the melody at all. -
Can’t wait to hear it!

I’m always blown away when folks totally get into doing paperwork to support their guitar learning. Impressive.

Sounds like a good formula. I had played before TAC but never with a pick. I am learning to like it more and more as I go on.

Wow!
Really good editing singing and playing. That’s pretty awesome! -

No such thing as too slow… I had an unusual day, which I will post in wins, but my younger brother who is a worship leader and can play most anything he wants by ear cannot fingerpick a song. He gave me advice on musicianship, and I gave him advice on fingerpicking. Practice keeping time with your thumb, and… wait for it…
Take it slow, do it right not fast and sloppy, that’s the way to get there. You are doing the right thing. Play it as slow as you need to. -
Rythmicly still tricky, but thanks for the vote of confidence 🙂

The Breedlove is an excellent suggestion! My Son’s all solid organic series companion came in at under $600 after adding a gig-bag, tuner and capo into the mix!
If you, @nelsonb12 are looking for excellent quality with a modern sound in a small guitar in that price range, I second this!
