@WAMGOC , Glad to see you have in a year. I hope the year has been very productive for you. I’m sure that it has. I’m guessing you are going to go onto a 2nd year?

@albert_d , I forgot about the song vault. Here it is @OhWowMan , http://tacsongs.com/ . When you open it up there is a Fingerpicking side and a Flatpicking side. Select the icon for flatpicking. The songs come in Starter, Easy, Medium and Hard. I was a little surprised when I opened up the ‘starter’s thou. I thought they were a little advanced than I thought they would be. But, you be the judge of that. If you have any problems finding the tabs, post again and someone will tell you how to get them.

Maybe…… as we age, that’s why we get hard of hearing? ha ha ha….. just teasing you @Mrfredsporty. looking forward to your post.

Good for you to buy the Fretboard Wizard when you signed up. You can’t just buy it anymore except on signup. It’s being updated and when it is, you’ll have access to the new one. But, its been a long time in the updating process. The Fretboard Wizard is yours as long as you belong to the TAC site. I took it and really liked it. It explains a lot. You could start taking it along with your daily challenges. It will help you understand what Tony is talking about when he goes into the chords that are in the Key of A (or B, C, etc). If you get stuck on something, try to work it out on your own a little, but feel free to ask the community for help. Some of it can be confusing. I had to do that a few times. You could record the FBW program as you go along (with your IPhone or other recording device) and compare the 2. Again, good for you for the purchase.

@Alphajim5 , what challenge is this? I do recall one on palm muting not too long ago. But, I don’t remember which it was.

@stevieblues, congrats on you 394th day. I have gotten as far as 99 and woops….. I forgot to log on so i’m back on 61.

@Mrfredsporty , so glad you did your shopping and now have a guitar you love. But, did you say ‘final’? A final guitar? as if you aren’t looking into a resonator to buy to play those blues on or a slide guitar to just pick around with.

MemberAugust 8, 2022 at 6:57 am in reply to: follow up to stringing along with Tony…..WOW! WOW! WOW!@Mrfredsporty , I am glad you are happy with the new strings. I do not change the strings on my guitars. Only the smallest of them has had new strings and that was because of some bridge work that had to be done. I was noticing the other day that my GS mini is sounding a little dead and I have thought about getting new strings. But, so far i’m still in the thinking stage. I have to listen to Tony’s AC and hear his speech on strings. Thats for the post

@Brian2501 , I just started noting out the melody line to a song myself. It is helping me a lot with singing. Now, I know where that note should be (not that I can always hit it). But, I just wanted to thank you for the post. This is a really good ‘small win’. Hope you are still at it.

@KayMesser, Of course you could still practice on the Uke, but it is a bit different. I’ve never played one so I’m just guessing. 4 strings and tuned different. When I was traveling my brother gave me his granddaughter guitar which is a guitar you’d buy at a department store for maybe $30 (First Act). Had 6 strings, tuned the same as a adult guitar, shorter neck. Got a lot of practice tuning it because it would come out of tune. But, it still worked great for me. Best of all, I didn’t have to be afraid of taking it outside and damaging it like I would with a rented guitar. Have fun on vacation.

@JoeT , I just looked em up and it looks like you have a beauty of a Dreadnought. You’ll have to tell us how she plays. By the way, Guitar-Center gets a lot of my business because of it great return policy. Happy strumming

@MikeGaurnier , it really is a big help all the way around. If I can get the first couple of notes I can figure out the rest. It’s higher or lower, easy peasy. I just figured out Dream a Little Dream of Me. I want to play and record the song with chords then add a track of the melody notes. Just for fun.

That would be a really good idea to have a spare guitar at your parents.
