@Juhan, @Loraine is right , the tension is a lot stronger on those steel strings. I just recently had a mishap with a guitar of mine. Those steel stings pulled the neck loose from the body of the guitar. I replaced the strings with nylon (classical) and now it’s in working order again (well, after a little gorilla glue, clamps and dry time). I have 2 guitars with nylon strings and it’s a LOT easier on your fingers when I practice. I also have 2 guitars with steel strings.

I made a calendar of the VOMs in Excel. It really wasn’t that hard to do. There are all kinds of templates on the internet. You just have to fill in the info of what site is open on what day and time. As for the members map, I wasn’t really crazy about that, so I don’t miss it. But the VOM calendar I missed. This is a snap shot of my calendar.

@jdwpdx47 ; I would highly recommend the Fretboard Wizard course. It will open your eyes to everything. I had to use the “community support” on some sections so don’t be afraid to ask. The Fretboard Wizard is well worth the money it cost.

Yep, the metronome is our friend. I’m amazed after playing a song I know and then playing it against a metronome that I’m playing way too slow. Glad you are having good luck with it.

I have had issues with strumming myself. Find something that is an easy “up down” strum and try to get used to the motion before actually hitting the strings.

Yep, the first step is starting a routine. Walking the dogs and then sitting down for a few to play a tune. Now….. you can start thinking of a song about walking your dogs 😀

I have just started playing the scales against the backing track and i do find it rewarding. Like @Loraine said, play the scale anyway you like or embellish on your own style. Good luck and have some fun.

WOW! Great job with Classical Gas! I tried to play it and got 2 seconds in and quit. You make it look easy.
