Your humble offering was well done. You should move further up stage when it comes hot time to play. Well done @Juliel.

Chaplains are trained as care takers to remember that giving care is not a sprint. They are reminded that care givers also must practice physical and emotional self care so they can continue to minister effectively. Out of the fixed 24 hours, please remember to sleep, to eat well, and perhaps to recharge your emotional energy with 10 minutes on the guitar. But pick a simple, heartfelt song to fulfill your promise. My first songs were a single open chord or two with arpeggios and strums. I am sure, @JT1, the bride of your youth appreciates the heart in your song more than the technical execution of the piece.

@niels This was a quality fun application of Octo. Love the way your gear was set up to give it that smooth cool vibe. Quite enjoyable. Thanks.

I, too, am discovering the whole fun world of alternate tunings but you are ahead of me in the ease with which you are adapting them to real song application. Good job and nice performance. (Also like the open casual setting).

I learned Pete Seger’s cover of this song over Wildwood Flower back in college and had forgotten about it. Thanks.. I’ll refresh this and put it back in the song list. Ruben James was a sailor who was medaled back in the Barbary Coast wars. They named the ship after him and later after the sinking was recommissioned. It was the rescue vessel named in the Sean Connery film, Hunt for Red October. Makes for good chatter for the audience when warming up to play the song. Thanks for sharing.
