It is a special thing that the internet does for people in Utah to compensate for the beauty of the state. Other than that I’ve no special explanation.

That’s a great win because it validates the effectiveness of your efforts. Small they may be but as Sam Walton said, “Never underestimate the accumulative effect of small changes”. Good job.

My dad farmed his whole life. My 3 sisters each loved this song. Good rendition. Merle could reach the heart strings.

Welcome back. It is different. Most ways better. You will like it, I think.

These benchmark songs are a new twist to TAC and so even we old timers are learning how best to fit them into our guitar journey. If it’s a song I know (like Hotel California), I will focus on it for the week and between times come back to it outside my TAC practice and try to add on layers. If it is a song (like this Bon Jovi song) with which I am less familiar, I’ll just focus on the week and move on until the benchmark comes around again. I will also be aware of the song and watch it on YouTube and become more generally familiar with it. Like anything it depends upon how much time you have or want to pour into it. If it is a song I don’t particularly like, I’ll still learn the techniques because those techniques will bleed over into other songs I do like. I get OK at some songs and others not so much. I’ll never be good like Tommy Emmanuel. At the end of the day it is all fun.
Welcome from Texas.

We are just a bunch of Guitar Geeks learning like you. You will find much enjoyment once you lean into the idea of playing as a process and not an achievement. I have enjoyed my 1,600 playing sessions with TAC and am adding to the count daily (10 minutes, right?)

I like the idea too. But I am using a metal tip bucket so it makes lots of noise when those coins hit or, even better, lets those Andrew Jackson’s lay out flat. (I put the first one in myself so she would know my “work” and contribution to the “higher callings” is legit).

Never would happen at my house. I don’t think it is that I play that bad. I think that she considers it ill form if I play while she works.

Thanks for adding to our Christmas Celebration with your Christmas Hymn.

Merry Christmas and Happy Playing and Songwriting to you. Play something Joyous for your family this season.

Good job. I have in the past grabbed several of these old songbook songs and they have become a staple in my playing. I forget they are there. I need to add one of these into my next quarter TAC goals. Thanks for the reminder and for sharing.
