He usually does announce it. It is always the first Wednesday of the quarter as I recall. By the way, great accomplishment.

Great win. One of my quarterly goals is to improve my Travis picking. July is coming up and I need to renew attention to that goal. Thanks for sharing the reminder with your win.

I love it. We had a local HS band, “The Shy Guys”, who played wearing white Nehru jackets in darkened room under black lights. Man, we were soooo coool. Enjoyed your rendition.

When I was first picking up the guitar I did so to play for my friends around a campfire type setting. I fingerpicked simple 2 or 3 chord songs. One I recall was 16 tons (I pulled it from a Tennessee Ernie Ford record) with ‘Em, Am, B7. I didn’t strum it. I alternately picked the bass stings. Slow, simple, but effective. You might try that or something like it before jumping off ship @JerryCan

He played for 3 hours to a full arena a second night. The audience was youthful in 20’s-30’s and the energy and accompanying players were over the top. You have to be young to have that kind of stamina. And it is good to see another generation honoring and expanding the music.

3 weeks won’t slow you down that much. You will recover in no time at all. Just jump back in where you wish and the old muscle memory will wake up In May Tony has been taking a revised song building approach and if that continues in June you will want to stay abreast of the Daily Challenges.

Tony has had an Acoustic Tuesday session on picks. You can check the archives. I too prefer to finger pick but over time have also come to love flatpicking a fiddle tune just to relax. It is good it doesn’t have to be either or but both and.

Congratulations. It is a serendipity of TAC to have the knowledge and support and a group among which we can share our guitar journeys. Thank you for routinely being part of that group. 750 x 10 = > 7500 minutes of incremental growth.

You must have watched Alaska Daily before composing. Played along in Dm pentatonic.

I tried to avoid the “Cats in the Cradle Syndrome” but even when you parent well they still forget and life wraps them up in busyness. (I did catch it but like you said you just kept going. Good job).
