Is that a North Carolina State Song? Scary! But your muscle memory came through. Way to go and get back on that raft and keep floating.

Good win. I’ll have a milestone coming up soon too. I think the counter is most useful for motivation. It is fun to think about the accumulative effect of small changes.

Welcome @Markl. I can add to what these guys said but I do want to welcome you to TAC. Keep having fun with your music. I too love to play for grandkids.

It probably doesn’t help you with main stream songs, but it is fun. I’ve used it to play A Soalin’ in prep for Christmas. Tony throws these alternate tunings in a few times a year and they are appreciated and fun after you’ve been in a while. These tunings also reenforce concepts you pick up in Fretboard Wizard. There is also a whole skills course on Alt Tunings. Don’t let it worry you. Your first week just happens to be a anomaly for a Challenge starting place.

Welcome to the Lifetime sojourners. Each TACaversary I reflect on my progress and am reminded what a joy it is to express myself in music. A true blessing indeed. And I am better and more easily able to do so as the techniques, licks, scales, rhythm, and chords and theory become muscle and mind memory. One does not get bored by the repetition of lessons but rather reinforced. I recommend a Lifetime membership to all Guitar Geeks. It is a great investment in life enjoyment.

The log on counter is a great “accountability partner” for me. It is a useful reminder of our consistently. My longest streak was 366, but I intentionally broke it in May 2022 so I could prove to myself that I wasn’t obsessed. I currently stand at 14. I am happy for your small win.

Hey really insightful. I like it a lot. Polish it off and put it on your playlist.

Great experience and a real eye opening entrance to the joy of theory. Good for you.

This is way to fine a rule question for me! Seems it depends on the purpose of your logging. I used the TAC counter to hold me accountable. I had a year long streak and intentionally broke it at 366 days because I wanted to prove to myself that the music was for the fun and not the log. So the real question as I would ask myself is, “Did I have a fun with the guitar today?”Either in my head or in my hand or in my heart. Then I’d log it. If not, then ask why, fix it and log it. Enjoy the ride.

  • Great fun venue and performance. Like your cover.
