I totally get the idea of no Eureka moment. It is way more subtle than that. It is the collection of those small wins, day after day that are the osmosis stew. I was reading through the your comments and I stumbled on to this sage observation: “The important thing I’ve learned this year is to play what you can’t play and don’t think of it as a failure when it all falls apart. One day you find you can play that thing that was just so difficult before”. Solid gold nugget there Darren. I am really stoked that you UK TACers are having an IRL get together. One benefit of the experience is exponential progress.
So glad you found your way here. Your participation has made my journey richer. I wish you fast easy progress and continued success.

Just different sonic textures. You get to be the weaver. Here is something fun to thing about: while playing a power chord what is happening on the strings you are not playing compare it to the full bar chord and you get a fun way to play chords on the higher pitched stings for yet another sonic texture.

Great analysis and observations @albert_d . I had my streak at 4hundred something and started over and there was that moment when I thought “ahww thats a shame” but only took a moment to realize it was a useful tool and it is about my fun fueled progress not the counter.
My wife is number 1 too and she is fun all the time except for the days I bring home a new guitar…but secretly (between you and I) I think she likes it because while her mouth says no her eyes kinda glint yes, she keeps me around anyway.

@Levi I happen to know an old guy highly trained and skilled who would intern with Angie to facilitate this glorious event.

Hee hee, @Guitargeezer-Jack That “Look” is present every time a buy another wooden box strung with silver wire. I found to @Bill_Brown ‘s point, the playing of favorites eases it’s severity over time. Travel happily and enjoy the play…n ride. sorry that may be a stretch too far.

@Mrfredsporty , this is a 100% bona fide technique. I would say in some instances it is most definitely the easiest way to go. More tricks in the bag the more you can play.

Way to go @SherryH , your obsevations and conclusions ring true with me. I like where you have been and I like where you are going.
What is your obstacle to overcome in order to fulfill that consistency intention? It is a question I always ask myself. It is as much a rhetorical question as it is a literal one. Would love to hear your take.

A+++ effort, determination, execution. Nicely played @the-old-coach . Now that you have it all figured out looking forward to hearing more.

I tried to make some 5 string power chords sounds cool, not easy…yet.

The most important question here @the-old-coach is what do you think about how it sounds? Does it fit with the sound your hear in your head? Is it the sound you like and want when you hear it? Don’t use it because it is easier if it does not fit the sound of your intent. Hopefully I am making sense.

Great analysis @SherryH , Some things may be more important than the guitar playing practice, I don’t like it but living with that and finding the place in my priorities where my playing does fit makes it easier for me to say no to lower priority things that start flashing becoming seemingly more important in the moment. Those are the things that distract me from my set priorities. When I focus on priorities I don’t feel bad when guitar is missed as long as I don’t miss it because of distraction. You sound like you have an excellent handle on that. This has been a cool conversation because I get yet another my wake up call to focus. Many Thanks Sherry! Wishing you focus and the fulfillment of your intent this coming year.

So great to share these last 7year of our journeys Stillhand. I would not be even half as far as I have gotten without your example and contributions. We have shared some incredible IRL moments in our music journeys as well as the fantastic lightbulbs you lit my path with. Those moments remain wellsprings of inspiration and good feelings about ending on high notes. Those are natural highs in case anyone thinks they might have been sharp, flat, or even accidentals. hehe. Gotta be more where those came from!
