CCDCFE Tony. Wow just realized how close Happy Birthday song is to Tequila Sunrise.
I am thinking you get credit for that realization. Hoping you have a great day and year!

Fast forward a few years and now without even trying I frequently play without looking and as an exercise I will improvise totally without looking and have been pleased with the results. It was always my goal to be able to play without looking but letting go of the timeline seemed to be the thing that worked for me. I still look when I need to look, but it has become glances instead of hard staring. Work your daily challenges without looking once you get them down and see how that goes for you….and report back….😉

Hi @Tobi , welcome to TAC. Have fun on your vacation! I don’t do the catch up thing. I am always applying my effort to the daily lesson at hand. The idea of playing what is in front of me and playing the heck outta it has served me well. Tomorrow is a new day. The best thing,… I don’t have to think about what will improve my playing. I just get to play what is presented.

Super pumped you got that strum part locked in. Sounded great!!!
Say did I feel a little 11/8 time in there?

I had to learn counting through repetition. I had thought I could play by feel but that became problematic when I started playing with other people.
I had to slow stuff down and I would exaggerate my foot tap. I would also use dynamics to remind myself of where I am. Playing the first beat of the measure more loudly also reminded me where I was.
Keep at it. I remember being pretty frustrated at times but that was not helpful. Dogged determination was the key for me.

Hi @Gopal , I am with @dr_dave here: jump into those daily lessons. They are the backbone of developing the skills and mind muscle connections one finds ever so useful for playing guitar. Go more slowly than you think you should. I spent a good amount of time chasing speed until I realized I learned way faster when I manage tension and snuck up on it. I have heard some people say speed kills but I would say only if you have not managed your tension. Truly it is tension that kills speed.
