    That’s so cool @SoCal_Ian . I’m happy for you. And this is a great example for why the VOMs should continue for newer TAC members. And I hope we keep seeing you at our VOMs.

    Hey @Andy_D , Tony explains how to use a metronome in an Acoustic Tuesday Show. You can access that by going to Acoustic Tuesday, and clicking on the little magnifying glass icon in the upper right corner of the page (it’s kinda all by itself and easy to miss) and typing in “metronome”. These are the links to the 2 show segments that the search brought up. But this way, you can look up other stuff for yourself.

    Hello yet again @Guitargeezer ;

    I just visited the “Small Hands and Short Arms!” topic and saw that you had responded. You mentioned that you had similar issues to @queenkobraxx . As I had just looked at the guitars you are considering buying, I thought I would weight in on this topic again.

    First, I will give the same advice I gave to Maria (queenkobraxx). Don’t buy any of these guitars without being able to get them into your hands first.

    Second, I would suggest something smaller altogether. All of these are large guitars. I prefer the slightly smaller body guitars at the largest. My favorite guitars are the even smaller parlors. I don’t have any Martins and I have held a Martin only a handful of times, so I would have trouble giving you a size comparison. But maybe the 00 instead of the 000? As far as the Gibson, it is a dreadnought. I owned a dreadnought once and just couldn’t get comfortable with it and finally got rid of it.

    One other thing: I love the 12 fret guitars as the neck feels shorter and easier to reach. You have to ask yourself, how often do you play far up the neck? If you are playing chords, even partial chords, no one goes past the 12th fret as the frets are just too close together to make chord shapes. If you are playing solos, do you really want a guitar of this type? You can always get a smaller guitar with a cutaway if you think it’s an issue.

    Anyway, these are my thoughts. I hope this helps.

    This is what makes this community so great @Andy_D , that we can get the help we need and we can give back by helping others. Thank you for letting me know that you got these links and you appreciate them.

    Hello @VictoriaTACTeam ;

    Thanks for the info. But I noticed that @kwilsonva hasn’t gotten a reply to the question “how will we know when the enrollment is open for Fretboard Wizard?”. Will it be announced on the home page so that everyone sees it as has been done in the past? Maybe on an Acoustic Tuesday Show? Apparently we don’t get anymore emails?

    Thanks

    Hey @Real-Vic-G ;

    I’m really happy to see you on the forum. And I think your comment is just amazing. The amount of personal insight you have provided shows the amount of information and experience you have with various guitars.

    All that having been said, I have to admit to all but quitting the forums for awhile since the change over. I never stopped logging in and doing the lessons. I am a lifetime member and have trouble believing that I will ever be accomplished enough to no longer benefit from the small amount of time it takes to do the dailies. But I think this new forum could be just as amazing as the old one was if (and when) more people would participate. I used to get so much out of the old forum and I used to love the amount I could give back on the old forum that it occurs to me I should take my own implied advice and put some effort into getting more active on the forum on this new platform.

    Anyway, all that just makes me really happy to see an old, and very helpful member getting back on. Or maybe you were here all the time and I was the one who didn’t see you because I was not here. Either way, I’m happy that @Guitargeezer , that is Jack, has gotten such wonderful input. Thanks Vic.

    Yeah, the CEO-7 is expensive (relatively), @Guitargeezer , but it’s pretty much a sure fire love at first sight/feel. They are simply one of the best all around guitars out there. My opinion and I’ve never even held one. But so many people here on TAC own them and give them such rave reviews and they sound amazing. If you could stretch you budget that far, you certainly wouldn’t feel the need to buy anything else for a very long time down the road. They are that good. Again, my opinion.

    Thanks for the advice about turning down the metronome volume so you only here the click when you are out of sequence. Love it.

    I do wish you would come visit one of the VOMs sometime, @Sheryl14 so you can see for yourself how safe and encouraging they are. Many times people joke about getting positive reinforcement even though it isn’t warranted. Of course, many of us believe that is true for ourselves, but none of us believe it is true for others. Joining TAC is a reason to be commended. Playing every day is a reason to be commended. Coming to a VOM just to listen is a reason to be commended. Playing in front of others, regardless of the performance, is a huge reason to be commended. Seeing progress in someone is an amazing high and gives us even more reason to shower someone with praise. It is always authentic and warranted no matter how we may feel when we are the ones showered with that praise. But hey, it sure does feel good even if we do think it is unwarranted.

    I hope that with time you can see that this new platform is everything the old one was and more, @Sheryl14 . If you can make it to a lesson to download and print a hardcopy, then all you have to do is hit the “favorite” button (the little heart icon below and to the right of the window), and you will have permanent access to that lesson. As far as we know, there is no limit to the number of lessons you can favorite.

    I am so glad that I have inspired you to continue to ‘haunt’ this forum. That makes the time I spend making replies all worth while.

    Hey @Guitargeezer ;

    I loved the old TAC forum platform. I don’t see any reason why this forum couldn’t be just as amazing. The transition and then the slow load speeds and finally the length of time to fix the issues put a real dent into the amount the forum was used. Many people, including myself, just gave up. The question I had to ask myself was, am I going to get back up or was the time I used to spend on the forums just wasted time and not worth it? The answer is: here I am putting in my time and effort to contribute to this forum.

    As far as the amp:

    I gotta tell you, I bought a really good looper; one of the best. It turns out that you really don’t need much from a looper which is why so many very basic and inexpensive loopers are still sold. The second thing is that even if you do want to do more with a looper, it’s strongly suggested to keep it simple at the beginning to learn how to use a looper. So a simple looper function coming with this amp is all a plus; no down side to it.

    My amp can do many of the things this amp can do as far as effects, but I’d have to spend as much or more than my amp cost me to get a pedal that functions with it. My looper is a pedal, but amp effects I would have to change manually which means I couldn’t do it during a song without buy the add-on pedal. This amp has it’s own pedal. Some of the best pedals and loopers are made by Boss. I just think the features you get in this thing greatly simplifies the equipment you need all the way up to doing live, professional gigs as Omar does.

    Anyway, thanks for the ongoing conversation. I love it.

    Isn’t that awesome @That_Guy ? If you had not been sure that you had made improvements before then, that would be the absolute proof. And what amazes me, is that you can get better at one of the lessons without ever having revisited that particular lesson or even remember it until it comes up again. Gotta love it.

    I’m so happy we could help @arbogajim . This forum has not become as active as the forum on the old platform was, but the instructions are the same. I believe TAC is the best site for building guitar skills over all. My opinion. It won’t take long for you to see improvement.
