Happy TACiversary @Marty69. Your generosity of spirit in helping those of us who are only just starting out on the journey is greatly appreciated and I hope you have a great year 5 ahead. Keep on keeping on! 🤟😎🎸

It’s so rewarding when you find a challenge you connect with. Hope it’s one of many. Keep it up 🤟😎🎸

Now that’s what it’s all about! The amazing thing for me was going back to the 30 day challenge, 7 months in, and realising that things I struggled to play I could rattle off at double speed. You have a great win there and believe me it is only the start of good things to come if you keep up that consistency of playing. 🤟😎🎸 Darren (Moonhare)

You’ve nailed it on the philosophy of TAC. Turn up, even if you’re not feeling particularly inspired, and it’ll filter into your playing. So glad you’re finding your pace and I hope to see you at the TAC 90 day progress party on Jan 5th. 🤟😎🎸 Darren (Moonhare)

You have all the advice you need above. Believe me I share your frustration at my fingers not doing what I want but from a different perspective. I’m a keyboardist so I can pretty much play anything I want on piano but starting to learn guitar this year my left hand was sooooo slow and clunky at fretting and getting both hands in tandem… nightmare. But I have put in the hours and bit by bit it is starting to happen. If you click on my profile and check my play for us vids you’ll see that progress is happening. You will get there if you are consistent in practice and playing. Just don’t set unachievable targets in your own head. I love the journey as much as the destination. I’ve arrived at the first station now but there are plenty of stops still to come and that is the truly exciting part of all this.

Finally do come to the 90 day progress party on Jan 5th. I’ve been to the last two and it is great to meet other TAC members and also Tony live. The invites will be on this site soon. Kepp on rockin’ 🤟😎🎸

Hi there. As you know I do loads of videos for YouTube. You should be able to video yourself perfectly well with the Samsung. Can you tell me whether you have sound playing BEFORE you upload to YouTube, ie if you just play it back on your phone? I assume you are just using the internal camera app. You can private message me here if you want to talk it all through. I’ve helped a few folks with this. I may not be the best guitarist on TAC but I know my stuff when it comes to video.

Hi there. I’d echo everything said above. I know it can be frustrating when you can’t get something straight away [I’ve been trying to learn an Irish flat picked tune for 2 months, still can’t get it up to speed!] but don’t beat yourself up. There is no golden rule that you must take 30 days to do the 30 day challenge but equally if you can’t get something you can move on and come back later. Also it can feel overwhelming to do the daily challenges at first but again they can be tried for 10 minutes, even if you don’t get them, then move on. It is the consistency of playing that is so important. We all learn at different speeds and we all have things we find easier or more difficult. 8 months on I can play things I just couldn’t when I started but I play every day, even if it is only 10 mins [it rarely is].

One last thing, try to get along to the TAC 90 day progress party on Jan 5th. The details will be posted on the TAC site shortly beforehand. You will get to meet and talk to fellow TAC members as well as hear from Tony live. It might be the new year guitar tonic you need. Keep on rockin’ 🤟😎🎸

Thanks @RealKurt for a fantastic gig even if it was the early hours of the night here in England. You must be the poster boy for TAC surely? Those songs were just amazing and that voice…. Just wow! Look me up if you ever need keys! I’d be there in a heartbeat.

And thanks to you @jim-krozz and the crew for arranging it. My first time to one of these. Must get to more, perhaps at a more sociable hour for the UK!

Rock on guys 🤟😎🎸 Darren [Moonhare].

Yes I really like this interpretation of one of my favourite Floyd tracks. The chords sound lovely and full and it’s not a straight copy of the original either – you’ve made some really wonderful choices on some of the transitions and made it your own. Glad you are posting on the forum. This is a great space for sharing our progress and playing. Cheers! 🤘😎🎸 Darren [Moonhare]

Thank you @loraine. Even since recording this I’ve worked more on it and it’s helping my flat picking no end.

Not worth preteneding here. I think I do 20 takes on average before I get something approaching a performance but I want to build that fluidity so I can eventually do one of the VOMs.

Haha – This seems to be a theme. Perhaps we need a Christmas B-Roll of everyone’s fluffs and dogs from trying to do these play for us vids!

I wish they would run away some times! Still so much fun having them around though.

Hey thanks. I’ve worked this up and added more to it now so getting much happier with it. Good luck with your gig on 17th too. Really would like to see it so if there is a chance to record it for those of us that can’t make the actual date then that would be awesome. 🤟😎🎸
