Hey Glenn. I’m new to the program too, actually still in week one of the 30-Day program. I’ve seen the same thing with week one and wrote to ask TAC Support about it. They replied that some of the “Learn” videos are being reworked to remove the language related to speeds in the “Play” videos. I haven’t seen your specific issue yet, but I have seen the same type of thing in week one and I bet they are related.
This answer probably won’t help you much except to let you know that you aren’t doing anything wrong or missing anything. Things are just changing and we’re kinda caught in the middle of all of it.

TAC Support replied and stated that the “Learn” videos are being updated to remove the language about multiple speeds in the “Play” videos. The way to speed up the “Play” videos is to use the 1x, 1.5x, 2x, etc. settings in the bottom right corner of the player. As of now anyway, 2x is the fastest you can go. Look on the bright side though, if you can play it faster than 2x you’re doing pretty darn good!

I’m seeing the same thing. Even if we take the advice given by the person who responded and use the playback speed, the fastest I can get is 2x, and that seems to change the pitch somehow. I’m going to post this as a question with support and see if we are missing something. I’ll post back or ask them to post on this thread if they have an answer.

I don’t disagree, if I did I’d go somewhere else. I’m counting on them to get the issues corrected. It’s not in their best interest to allow that kind of stuff to distract from the teaching method, which as you said, is the best around.

I’ve seen slow response too. While I agree that it’s excruciating, in TAC’s defense, there is a tremendous amount of stuff loading.
I was told by TAC support that they are reworking some of the videos, and based on the question I was asking I assume they are reworking them to make them smaller – which should help with the speed. Given that I don’t have problems with any other site loading, it seems the issue is definitely with TAC – either too much data loading or a lack of processing power or internet upload bandwidth on the server side.
The most egregious issue with the website IMO is the lack of a working search function for searching the forums. I’ve asked about that and TAC support responded that they are aware and are working to fix it.
I’m gonna pick it and grin and bear it for now. Trusting they don’t like it any more than I do, and will get it fixed.

Hey @BluesLife! Nice to meet you too. Yep just got started a few days ago. Working my way through the 30-day, at the end of Week 2, so ahead of schedule, and using the time to go back through the first two weeks and practice what I learned. The power chords have been a bit of a struggle when moving up and down the neck, but other than that things are going pretty well. Holler if I can be of help or “no help”. 🙂

Same here. I played some guitar (and mandolin) a long time ago so I have some background in chords and picking, but want to make sure that I’m not carrying over bad habits from my self-taught days. To avoid that, I’m doing the entire 30-day challenge, but doing it at a faster pace. To make sure I’m getting it all down, I repeat every exercise at least once every time I practice. I am already noticing my fingers starting to gain strength and calluses after less than a week. I wish I had started this class a long time ago.
