I call the Fretboard Wizard course the chandelier of light-bulb moments

TAC HQ is in Bozeman, not Butte. I would say reach out to them and see what is possible. With Covid, folks may be working from home.

I too struggle with using a metronome. Fine on the quarter beats but the eighth notes are harder. But just keep at it. Not to the point where it inhibits your playing though. Use it as part of the stuff you want to practice but don’t make the practice about using the metronome – if that makes any sense. Just take a couple of minutes out of your practice time to practice the metronome instead of having it going the whole time regardless of what you are working on.

I started with the daily lessons and the 30 days combined. The 30 Days gave me my foundations to work upon but the daily lessons allowed me to see that I was making some progress. One thing I will stress – regardless of how you learn, be patient and give yourself grace. It can feel very hard some days. You will get frustrated. Just remember – you aren’t in competition with anyone. This is your journey – not a race to some end point. Lean on the community when you need to. And have fun. This is something you want to do – not have to do. SO enjoy yourself.

It is a tricky balancing act. When I was working and Dom was already retired, he would be playing all day and then join me in the evening. I kept listening to him though and decided that I wanted to learn as well. When I was laid off, I started to learn and now that we are both retired, we are so busy both of us have some trouble finding time to play. I wish I could devote hours but for now, we continue to do what we did before. Play in the day and hang with each other in the evening. If you are only a year or so into learning, you will find what works best for both of you.

For myself, I do try to learn the note as well as position but remember if alternate tuning is being used or a capo, then the note would change.

Okay okay.. when I first started, I couldn’t make a barre chord for the life of me. I was pretty convinced that it was just a plot by Tony to drive me insane. Lots and lots of attempts and practice and it is not only something I can do but also do cleanly most of the time. In fact, I kind of prefer the full barre F over the mini barre F. My next hurdle is transitioning to and from barre chords faster. One thing you can count one with guitar is that there is always a challenge to be mastered.

LOL. Hmmm.. I am seeing an improvement right now too. But I also see something that says “Fun with Barre Chords” and we all know that can’t be true. LOL.

I sense that maybe a hug is in order here. 🤗
