congratulations @Marisa!!! That’s great! I’ve only changed one, after it flew off when I was tuning.

Hey, you have a life. It’s all good. Your stubborn streak will be a true asset. 🙂 A lot of times after I listen to Tony ‘teach’ the next ‘lesson’ I turn off the volume because I am way….. too slow. I’m still training my brain to match fingers to strings, fingers to frets, and read the tab. LOL …… Keep coming back to the forum and you’ll see that we all have these feelings during this adventure. The forum is one of the best components of TAC, at least to me. I need you all, especially this past year. So, Claudia, check the forum a lot, feel better, it does get easier, some days. LOL

Hey @Gord001, it took me months to match string names to strings. I study the tab as Tony talks. I’m not even at .25 speed on most licks, progressions, etc. And I’ve been a member for a year now. I’ve made index card w/ the strings and their letters. I’ve made index cards of each chord, like what is printed at the top of the tab. That has helped me. Practice, practice works well too. Give yourself time and be easier on yourself. Take your time it’ll come.

Congratulations! I also got the Fretboard Wizard. Haven’t gone into it yet but I feel great that I know I can go anytime.
Keep a stringing!

Sounds that you have it altogether with teaching and guitar! Love that you are serenading the students as they work

my brother had a felt pick. I’ll try that tomorrow.

Is there a place on TAC to put a pic? I’m not ready to play in the forum yet. However, I have been playing “Blowin in the Wind” since it’s only 4 chords.

Yes, I agree JoeW. I can remember my brother playing beautiful music on the guitar. He’s 6″ 8 so his hands and fingers are large and long. He could make all of the notes and read the notes beautifully.

thanks @KeyMaker! I’ll look up Giuliani. My brother gave me all of his lesson books so that will help. He did not play chords.

I noticed there wasn’t a plastic cover (pick guard) on the classical guitar. I sure don’t want to mark it up at all. It is a special instrument to me since it’s from my brother. He still has the tag when he bought it, pd $199 for it in the early 70’s. Needless to say, it’s worth a lot more now. Thanks for the info. … I would have marked it up…..

Thanks @Alfred. Theorose wrote the same about the nylon strings. I was told I would have to retune a lot but I didn’t think it would be twice in the same playing session. Glad I can use a pick w/ both guitars.
-
Thanks @Theorose. It’s good to know about how fast the nylon strings go out of tune.

Just finished Ice Dancing and made it a favorite. Beautiful! Yes, Sherry and Bill, I could go up and down the neck as well. Great feeling of accomplishment isn’t it???
