That was a great rendition @Philb 👏👏👏 I’m by no means a vocal expert, but I definitely see improvement in your singing efforts Phil. I think placing the capo to a point where you can sing in a different octave to accommodate your voice, while remaining in key, is the right way to go👍👍🎸😎

Hi Paul ( @matesicp ) Welcome to TAC👏👏 Congrats on finishing the “30 Days to Play” course. I believe I have a similar back ground story to yours, so let me share what I did after I completed the 30 Day challenge. The next step that I took was “Your Next 6 Chords” course – I thought I knew all the chords, but there were some I didn’t, and this course helped me to not only find a couple new chords, but most importantly, a method to learn how to fret the chords quickly so I could transition with speed between chords😱. From there, I did a “Jumpstart” course ( there are 3 of them in the “skills” section – and take note that there are 2 pages of Skills courses)👍. I did all the “jumpstart” courses and then I started doing the “Daily Challenges”. While doing that, I continued doing skills courses such as “Fretting Hand Toolbox” to reinforce some techniques I (thought) already had. Soon after, I developed a curiosity to know more about how to move around the fretboard. So the next course I took was called “Foundations of fretboard Navigation” and that led me to “Fretboard Wizard” – a spectacular course. This is the path I took, but you’re free to choose your own – I’m still doing some courses in the skills section, and currently going through Fretboard Wizard for the 2nd time – you pick up little bits and pieces that were over looked the first time💡🤩💡 helping things to click even more so in my mind!😎
Good luck with your journey, and remember to have fun all along the way🎸

Hi Cliff ( @csharpusa ), I’d like to start by saying welcome to TAC – We’re glad you made the choice to do your guitar journey here👏👏👏 I believe as time goes on, you’ll see that you made a great decision. That being said, let’s talk about that C chord. The typical problems with making a C chord have to do with the arch that you can make with your fingers over the other strings. Typically that involves moving your palm (of the fretting hand) around to different positions to create the arch necessary to allow the fingers to get over top of the other strings so you’re not touching them. There are other things to consider also, but I’ll let those details up to other TACers to discuss with you👍
