Hi @stevieblues , Just some thoughts🤔, try making that chord shape further up the neck – say the 5th fret where there is less tension on the strings ( that would be an A chord). If you’re still having problems with clarity, then try shifting your fretting palm to a more forward position (fingers moving up toward the ceiling) to create more arch in the fingers. Lastly, don’t laugh at me, check the length of your fingernails – make sure they’re short enough so the don’t interfere with your ability to arch your fretting fingers😮
Hope this helps

Great performance @Daniel_Morin 👏👏👏 I noticed the “No Head Man” was enjoying it too🤣 Wonderful rendition – you nailed it👍👍
-
Hi @DavidScoggins , both were nice👍👏👏👍, but I preferred the second take because it sounded like it had direction – like you were playing with purpose and knew where you were going with it🤩. The first take sounded like you were wandering, not really sure where you wanted it to go😮 IMHO.

Yes @Jonathandavid , the backward rolls didn’t work for me either, so I went with single notes from the start😱 You’ve come up with a nice melody🤩 Very nice👍

Great backward rolls @AAstrum 👍👍 You played the scale, as presented, smoothly and maintained good tempo🤩 and looked like you had fun doing it🙂
-
So sweet and melodic @Niels 🤩👍🤩 I like how you used the single notes and slides (that’s what I’ve been noodling with – but couldn’t come up with any tangible melody) along with the quick “run-ups” to the home note to create a wonderful melody that matches the backing track👏👏👏 Hats off to you Niles🎩 way to go🍾

Hi @jojola , IMHO, you should do Foundations of Fretboard Navigation and then go onto Fretboard Wizard😎
-
Great playing @Daniel_Morin 👏👏👏 I wonder how it would sound if you sang the lyrics in French? (lol)🤔

Hi Scott ( @Smschloesser ), I’ve come across this great website that has all kinds of that type of information and lots more😱
I’m pretty sure you’ll find the answer there🤔
-
Well Scott, I did a google search on accidental chords and it opened a whole can of worms😱 Long story short, I don’t think you’ll be able to “pencil them in” on your Nashville Number chart🤔 Check this out and you’ll see what I’m talking about
https://www.google.com/search?client=safari&rls=en&q=accidental+chords&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8
There is a lot of stuff there that’s over my head at this point, but I can see that the subject is way more complicated than meets the eye😟
Good luck and hope you can find something that meets your needs.👍

Great job Layton ( @Lange22 )👍👍 It looks like you settled with mostly single notes and very little drone (if any). That’s the path I’ve taken – single notes. Sounds the best to me against that backing track🤔.
-
Yea, but he doesn’t have that French accent🤣(lol) – he sounds like a “continental” 😱that just stepped out of an advanced French language class to do this song😆
-
Well said Layton👍, that’s how I felt also!

This information is valuable to me because I still haven’t changed the strings on my 000 15 yet. I’ve been procrastinating about doing it for a good while, but I wasn’t really sure which direction to turn. At least I think I’ll steer clear of the D’Addario XS’s for now.
