Like you said @stevieblues , one day, 10 minutes per day and your doing well. It’s okay to have breaks in our streaks. It is more about your overall playing sessions anyway and the progress made.

Love the drone effect especially the first 1/2 of the song, but then there’s the change up in the last 1/3 of the sound with added rhythm, and loved the lyrics,

This one sounds familiar like I’ve heard it before. Not sure if that’s the case or not.

    Anyway, kudos to @Fletch @JulieI @stevep

That is truly an awesome win and exciting @happyharper ! I still have problems after 3 years meeting the increased speeds. Keep up the great work!

@GGG_GrannyGoneGangster Welcome to TAC! Congratulations on several wins – playing through the 12 bar blues cleanly and learning to read the tabs. You’re definitely on your way! Keep up the great work. As for going past the higher frets, that will simply become easier as time goes on. Just keep up with the lessons and practice a minimum of 10 minutes per day, and things will become clearer and easier as you go forward. It’s a journey, not a destination to learn the guitar. 🙂

@MMMURRAY Your post made me smile, but in a really good way. I remember the same period in playing where they were just impossible to play. It typically is not the guitar, unless you need a set up to make it easier to fret. You need to build the strength in your fingers, and then you need to play around with placement of fingers and your index finger. My suggestion is simply to keep trying and practicing. You will eventually hit the sweet spot and make a clear barre chord. There are many players, experienced ones too, that have difficulty and dread barre chords, but I say they can be fun to learn and play once your do find that sweet spot. So just add it to your daily or weekly regime to practice them and keep on plunking.

Awesome wins @N-lightMike . btw, what does n-light stand for and what is the story behind that moniker?

I agree to some extent with @Moose408 that it is a long journey, but it is so much fun when you hit a growth period and rapidly improve at something. You just have to remember that there are plateaus and periods of slow and sometimes painful periods between the rapid growth periods. We must keep in mind that everything is temporary.

Congratulations on your 1st TACiversary! You should really notice a difference in your skill this year when taking the dailies. As they rotate around you’ll see how much they come more easily. I agree with other comment. Take videos as you go along and look at them several months to a year down the road. Y I ull definitely s we e your improvement. Taking Fretboard Wizard is a great course.

Great question that no one has a definitive answer on. I’ve asked @VictoriaTACTeam in the past. Maybe she can way in. I was always told that if they plan one they’ll give plenty of notice to the family. If they’re going to have one, I’d look for notice around December or January.

@jamstronghorn If you feel the joined date is incorrect, contact Support using the button at the bottom left. They’re pretty responsive to all questions.

To access Fretboard Wizard after you’ve terminated your subscription to TAC, you would simply log on as normal and access dit that way. You just wouldn’t have access to the lessons.

@N-lightMike I appreciate your thoughts and opinions on this. It is obviously something you feel strongly about. I know you’re a big supporter and cheerleader of TAC. I’m not quite sure what you’re looking for as a response or by tagging me.

There is a lot more to running a business than just the owners positioning themselves for retirement. It involves a lot to keep an active membership, but customer focus and service are a big part of it, as well as the overall content being marketed. I personally don’t see how the change to the new site was a great benefit. The changes could have easily been made to the old site, which was more user friendly, allowing more forum functionality, and much faster than the current site.

Don’t get me wrong. I think TAC is a wonderful place, but I saw the change as having a change to both the TAC members, as well as to TAC itself. I saw disrespect on both sides of the coin. I let my dislike of the new site be known, and I was shut down by TAC, which I thought was totally unwarranted and rude. I chose to push past that though. I think I receive a fair deal for my annual fee, which I actually converted to a lifetime membership. I believe in the process and teaching style of Tony. I’ve seen many sites that basically teach the same things, but I prefer a Tony’s personality and style.

I think that TAC has become better at changing to meet the needs of the customer, but this has been just recently. I know it takes time to build new lessons and produce them, but TAC also needs to learn to communicate better with with us, esoecially if they hear our concerns and are working on changes. Let us know we’re heard. The new lessons are much more focused on communicating to the beginner, are fun, and I appreciate that. And I like that Tony’s now teaching songs. That was always a missing piece.

The lack of a formal mentorship is unfortunate. That is why I tend to respond to so many forum posts is to force a form of mentorship.

Overall, I think the aesthetics, the inability to go to new comments automatically when going into a thread, the lack of mentorship, the inability to expand the forum topics, but especially the ungodly slowness of the current site are a turnoff to many, and not just the old timers but to newer members as well. There have been many comments regarding this last one especially.
