@KayMesser Welcome back. That’s a huge win to be able to step away when necessary, but more importantly to return and not give up.
I’m not sure how long you’ve been playing or how often you play/practice, but your profile says you joined in 2022, so that’s still considered fairly new in guitar. Give yourself a much needed break from the should haves, and look at how much you’ve achieved since first picking up the guitar. I often do this when I’m feeling discouraged and feel I should be more proficient at playing already. I can see that I am improving and progressing at playing. I have to stop myself when I compare myself to others playing. We don’t know their situation. Are they still juggling work, family, other commitments, etc. How often are they able to pick up and play and practice during a day or week. Have they supplemented their TAC lessons with private guitar lessons (this is something I highly recommend you look consider). It’s funny, but usually when I’m the most frustrated that right around the corner is an aha moment or something clicks and all of a sudden I have a burst of improvement in something I had been struggling with. Those are fun moments. I’m not familiar with the song you mention, but maybe look for 2 or 3 chord songs by Googling or searching You Tube for lessons/tutorials for 2-3 chord songs.
Most of all, just take a breath and tell yourself that you’re right where you’re supposed to be at the moment – Be kind to yourself. And then keep moving forward and have fun learning new things on the guitar. It’s a difficult instrument to learn, but the learning gets easier the longer you play, and I guarantee that you’ll continue to progress if you keep playing.

@JanetW TAC prefers that we not list other sites on their forum, so I’m going to send you a personal message.

@je4 @JeffM.22 Here are the pdfs from the 29th and 30th. I wasn’t able to find the list of lessons that I thought I saved, but I still had the pdf’s from last week open, so these should be correct. You can find the videos by going to my favorites under my name. the lessons will be under Rhythm and Chord Transitions.

Happy 4th of July @Quis . Tony will also say this throughout the year. Give the lesson a good go for at least 10 minutes, and then mark them completed. You can still continue to practice the skill, but the purpose off the lessons is to introduce new concepts and to develop a good foundation in which you can then pursue playing actual songs outside of TAC and you’ll find you’ll recognize and know how to play a concept/tool used in a song that you were taught by Tony already. Another thing to remember is that the goal is not perfection, but it is all about progress and continuing to move forward. Even with just 10 minutes per day you will progress in your skills and playing.

@je4 & @JeffM.22 I just started taking a screenshot or saving the menu page as a pdf. I should be able to get you the names of your missed days, and I’m pretty sure I saved all the pdfs, so I’ll try to send them to you. I favorite all the videos, and you can click on my profile and go to my favorites and click on the video you want. It may take me a bit to find and send.

Really great performance @KevinZ . Your vocals sounded so great. They were so relaxed and not forced at all, and you met all the ranges called out for in the song. Loved your pinches and overall great fingerpicking. You’ve come so far since I’ve known you through TAC. Keep on entertaining!
-
I thought you did an excellent job @DiscostewLA ! I don’t think the vocals would be easy, because of the ranges throughout, but you still sounded good. The picking and strumming were great. You had the lick down, and your timing was steady throughout.

@Mike-F I find your suggestion and what you call directness to be refreshing. I truly appreciate your critique, and you’re right, I did play it too fast, which I have a habit of doing when recording. I think it goes back to when I used to play too slow, and I forced myself to play faster than what I hear while playing. Hope that makes sense. Anyway, thank you for your honesty, and thank you for your compliments.

Thanks @DiscostewLA ! I appreciate the nice critique on the rhythm and vocals. I’ve struggled with both, but they’re getting better.
I do have to say that I find humor in this being a song sung at summer camp. Seems like an odd topic to introduce at a camp for kids that were sent there by parents who may or may not have had time. No inference on your parents or their reasons. My brothers and I went to summer camp too in the Poconos every year. It’s just my warped sense of humor talking here.

Thank you so much @stevieblues ! Sometimes I think the 12 string can cover up flaws better because it’s a fuller sound. I couldn’t put lyrics to songs for the longest time. I started practicing with Tom Petty and other similar songs where the lyrics followed the music tonally and at the same cadence. Then it just seemed to click one day.

Thanks @KevinZ . I love playing the 12 string, but I can only play it so long, because it is a dreadnought and my body rejects it eventually. Lol Not every song was meant for the 12 string either. I play around with the 6 string, 12 string, and electric on different songs to see which sounds the best. I thing the 12 string would be great with some of your songs Kevin, especially with your voice. Just make sure neither overpowers the other. 🙂

I wish I had heeded better parenting skills and not been so busy while raising children. The cycle does repeat itself too.
I truly appreciate your kind words and encouragement. I can actually see the improvement, which is colossal for me seeing where I started from and where I am today. And I still want to keep progressing and getting better. I’ll never be a Billy Strings or Tommy Emmanuel, but I’ll be happy with the guitarist I’ve become and will be!

Shawn, glad you were able to find the video. Do you need the pdf too?
