@mcarlson_sb Congratulations and happy NGD! You’ll have to post pictures of your new baby, and possibly a video showing off it’s voicing. I have many guitars. None are considered outrageously expensive, and several I picked up at auctions for bargain prices. Some I like, and a few I love. I added a 12 string,, a classical and a semi-hollow electric to my guitarsenal this past year. I plan on selling or gifting the few I rarely play or just don’t enjoy. Getting a new guitar that you just love makes a world of difference in playing. Hope you have lots of fun with your Ibanez.

@muzzleblaster1 the member section mentioned by @JoeT is a great source to find others near you, and then you could message them to see if they want to jam or know of other groups. I found that you don’t want to just out in your city, because it won’t bring up others within a general radius. Search by state instead and then look,for people near yours. Another fantastic suggestions made by @DiscostewLA was to see if there are any local jam clubs on meetup.com. I found one near me that’s pretty active. I just haven’t had the courage to go yet. Another outlet would be to ask local music shops if they know of any. Good luck!

The daily lessons are important to build a practice routine, and having Add, you should appreciate the structure of the week with every Monday being Technique, every Tuesday aLick, Every Wednesday a scale and improv, every Thursday on Rhythm, and every Friday Chord transitions.

As for the skills courses, I found the Jumpstart courses to be very beneficial in the beginning. The order you take any skills courses is up to each individual. What are your interests and goals. The suggestion of participating in the quarterly guitar party is great, because there is a focus on your next 90 days and setting goals.

Hi @trevor_finally_learns_guitar – The thumb typically stays centered to the chord you’re playing. It acts as an anchor and it helps keep your fretting fingers curved correctly while playing chords, and it will also allow you to transition to the next chord faster too.

One of the best sites I know of for everything chords is https://www.guitar-chord.org/ (address is hidden by TAC, but just hover over the blank line and click on it). With regard to Nashville number system, there are a lot of printable examples on line. A few are attached (if TAC doesn’t upload the photos, just Google printable Nashville number system chart).
