  • 3 years- where did the time go?

When I joined in December 2018 I was not sure what to expect. But in the old format where the community really supported each other I was so grateful for the TAC community feedback and made great friends through your comments and sharing of songs. I took risks and posted songs after hearing so many of the TAC members post great stuff. It was exciting to check in each day to see who posted what and hear from my new friends. The daily exercises were helpful to learn the fretboard but it was the community postings I loved and looked forward to each day. I miss that. There is so much to learn from each other.

So I want to thank all those old friends – too many to name but you know who you are- as this will be my good bye year ending this December after 4 fun years. I hope to still be collaborating with some of you outside TAC, see you at some VOMs and hope you all continue to play guitar everyday! I know I will. Be well my fellow guitar geeks.

Congratulations on your TACiversary David. It’s bittersweet to hear you’re moving on, but I completely understand. The community y is a shell of what it once was, and I miss that too. It’s been great getting to know you, and I’ve always enjoyed listening to your performances.

Another bright light in TACland going dark😱😱😖

This is sad news to me @deagle , I feel like we were starting to create a connection, if you will, through communications about all your wonderful performance posts. A TACaversary is supposed to be a celebration, but this doesn’t feel like that at all. I think @Loraine has summed up everything that I’m feeling …”bittersweet”. I’m happy that I got to make your acquaintance David, but sad that your journey will no longer include TAC. It’s very sad that the new format has made so many bright lights in TACland go dark – “and another one bites the dust”. Peace be with you my fellow guitar geek, may you journey well👍

I agree that we were in sync with our music. You were an example of the special support that members shared. I always valued your feedback and enjoyed your posts. I leave appreciative of all the connections I made and collaborations I did but sad that the community feeling changed because I will miss you. Good luck on your guitar journey!

My email is [email protected] if you ever feel you’d like to do a collaboration.

I know what you are saying @David I too miss the old TAC web page. I am coming up on 4 years with TAC in Dec. Under the old web page, I was a mentor. Most of the people I met have moved on. I miss the old way. Now TAC seams more “commercialized” than a happening. I guess I have to stick with it because I purchased the life membership 2 years ago. Best of luck David. See you around the VOM’s or other places. 😰😖😎

      Marty

You have explained my feelings perfectly. You will always be a mentor to those of us who knew you in the old system. Hopefully we’ll connect again in a VOM. Be well.

It’s the same story the crow told me. The first days are the hardest days. Now after three years you get to come along or go alone. Was good to have you along for the time without a doubt. Music world is a small world and hopefully we connect live in the offing. Never alone with a guitar!!!

Good luck David, I hope all goes well with your guitar journey. I started in Feb of 2021, and I was sold on the the connection of everyone. It changed a lot after the upgrade. I still look forward to the comments of people on the site but it has lost a lot of the spark.

So true. Thanks and I hope you find the connection you are looking for. It really motivated me in the past.

Thanks Marissa. Your postings are the kind I really looked forward to each day and there are so few doing them anymore which is what I miss and one of the reasons I am moving on. A lost sense of community. Keep the music flowing!
