Another Covid lockdown win :-)
Hi Tony et al.
Just thought I’d drop a line to tell you about a small win I’ve recently had.
You featured my Guitarsenal on the Guitarsenal segment a while back and that was a fantastic thing for me. My 15 minutes of fame so to speak.
Last year I enrolled in the Australian Guitar Making School with a view to making myself a guitar to substitute for the Martin my bookkeeper wife would probably divorce me if I bought.
Since then I’ve made two guitars. One of them isn’t acoustic so I’ll just put a photo below. It’s a Telecaster made from the wood of an old olive tree cut down at my sister’s place about 20 years ago. With ’52 Fender re-issue pickups it sounds great, but weighs a ton
In lieu of a Martin style D18, I opted to make myself a Baritone acoustic. See link to vid attached. It has an OM body of Englemann Spruce, Padauk back and sides (with Martin herringbone purfling) a Queensland maple neck and a bridge, fingerboard and headstock cap of the same olive wood.
The win is that just 3 days before the (Covid 19) lockdown in Sydney was announced, I strung it up to take home and play for a couple of weeks before the final sanding, (to allow for any tweaking to be done or adjustments made) and Satin Nitrocellulose finishing.
This means of course, my time locked down at home is spent noodling around with “Barri” my new beloved Baritone guitar. I hope you enjoy the little snippet of a new song I’m working on.

Apologies for the sound quality…my phone picked up me tapping my foot just a bit too much me thinks.
Loving the show as always. Cheers
