Just joined the community
Posted by andy_e on May 26, 2021 at 9:33 pmDear TAC community,
My name is Andy I recently joined TAC. I have played guitar since high school (usually more off than on and with little to no growth) and in the past year have developed a passion for playing like never before. I took lessons on JamPlay for a bit but felt a bit like I was wandering – a little of this and that. I appreciate the structure of TAC and I am glad to be joining a community that is so supportive. I look forward to communicating with you and being of mutual support on our acoustic journey!

Hi Andy. Nice to have you in TAC. Have you started with the 30 days to play? It’s a good review. Also are you familiar with the daily challenge? I never miss one. The 10 minutes a day is a great concept although that 10 minutes can grow into a lot longer practice session for me. Lots of support in this group.

Ron, thanks for the welcome. I am working thru the 30 day trial and am learning some useful techniques I wish I knew years ago. Glad to read your comment about how supportive the community is – that’s great!

Good move joining TAC. I started end of April and have got so much out of it. I hope you have fun and I echo how supportive the community are. I’ve been wrestling with barre chords and I got loads of useful tips and tricks from TAC members. It is simply amazing how thoughtful people are on here.

PS Just learned how Tony makes a B major chord – at last, I can feel confident with this chord – always felt like a gamble in the past, and one I was likely to loose! Wishing you the best with your barre chords!

Moonshare and Cherie, I am moving thru the 30 day challenge and having fun doing things I have never done before. Tony is a really good, positive teacher. Good luck with barre chords. I am getting better at not having dead strings or buzz. I need to work on pressing less hard with my fingers below the barring finger. I prefer a guitar with shorter scale length (24.9 inches or less) as the action requires less press – bar chords are easier. I appreciate your comments and support. Best, Andy
