  • TAC Day 84 – Strumming my life away!

Posted by Moonhare on July 14, 2021 at 9:51 am

Just a quick upload as I was having fun with trying to improve my strumming. Nothing at all flashy here, just a rhythm and trying out different tones from palm mute to full on digging in.

Thanks @Loraine for that. Keeping it fun is the mantra isn’t it!

Darren – you epitomize what TAC is about, i.e. having serious fun with the guitar. Your musicianship is apparent, and your great sense of rhythm and harmony accelerate your progress to be sure. Few people will make the great strides you have done in such a short time, but the main thing they need to embrace is that sense of fun and adventure that you project. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the encouragement @dr_dave . I think mixing disciplined daily challenges and the structure of TAC along with a bit of an undisciplined bit of thrashy fun is working for me right now. Just enjoying the journey.

That’s the kind of fun I love! You are bringing out some nice sound on your lovely guitar, and your musicality shines through! Rock on!

Those Yamahas are great fun to play aren’t they. Just bought some new strings though as I’m wearing out the set that was on it when I bought it 5 weeks ago!

Thanks so much @Lange22 and also I really got a lot from your appearance on Acoustic Tuesday. That all made so much sense.

Very nice @Moonhare 👍👍 You demonstrated great control of tempo while using different strumming styles😱, smooth chord transitions (but I didn’t see any barre chords🤔 – lol), and excellent enthusiasm👏👏 You are showing great overall improvement in your guitar playing🤩 Keep it going!

Barre chords! Well @Bill_Brown I think I’d have had to entitle it “Train Wreck in London” if I’d tried that out. 😄 But thanks for the encouragement. Simply can’t walk past the studio without picking up the guitar these days.

But from the ashes of the train wreck, the Phenix🤩 will rise- @Moonhare 😱 You’ve got this = and my support through your journey👍

Haha not sure the world is ready for that yet! 😉

(Sorry for the slow reply, currently on my ‘staycation’ which is filled with National Trust trips 🙂 and DIY 🙁 !)

I thought it was pretty flashy lol 🙂 It’s incredible what you can do after 84 days; my mind is blown. You have a true talent. Can’t wait to see what you can do after six months!

Hey that’s really kind of you to say @Alisa . I specifically chose easy chord transitions so I could actually concentrate on the strumming. One day I’ll get to some proper chords as well!

Very cool! Nice steady rhythm, clean and smooth changes. Good rhythm guitar is underrated. It paints the wall various shades for solo work to add dashes of color on top of. Thanks for sharing!

Very Nice! You can see you are feeling the music and not just playing cored and strumming. I think that makes a huge difference in the learning process. I’m enjoying your journey thanks for sharing! Have a Grateful Day my friend!
