Great playing and really nice to hear the totally different sound you get from the 12 string. Thanks for sharing both versions.

Couldn’t agree more. Keep up the routine and it’ll reap great rewards. 7 months in I’m playing things I wouldn’t or couldn’t have attempted in April. Best of luck. 🤟😎🎸 Darren (Moonhare)

Well done and welcome to a new guitar world! I do love alternate tunings. You can get some really interesting sounds. The only problem is it takes time to tune it so if you are doing normal practice too it helps to have a second guitar set up in standard tuning. An excuse for a purchase? 🤔No… I don’t think I’ll get away with it. 🤟😎🎸

Always a great feeling to attempt something and find your fingers are doing the right thing! Well done and here’s to more going forward.

To be honest it’s no big deal as they only get money from people who make money out of YouTube and that ain’t me!

Thanks. Yes I imagine after 100 songs you’ve had your fair share of tags!

Well one day in an alternate universe (tuning?) perhaps!

@markvguitar Thanks man. I would recommend checking out Angela Petrilli’s YouTube tutorial because it will go through the tuning you need for this one. Jimmy loved his alternate tunings!

A rather obscure one I admit but I was happy enough!

Thanks. I figured if the YouTube auto copyright monitor knows it’s Rain Song then I must have played it well enough!

Thanks @charlie_d . It was great fun to learn it but also led me down a rabbit hole of noodling around in alternate tuning.

Hi there @Bill_Brown . It’s actually the one I posted on the Play For Us forum a couple of weeks ago which you’ll already have heard so I didn’t bother linking it here but if someone stumbles on this thread and wants to hear it here is the link.

Hi there @MikeGaurnier . Thankfully there is no real issue here. It’s
been flagged as a copyright claim because I’m playing someone else’s
song so in the unlikely event that I got tens of thousands of views and
made money out of the video that would go to the copyright holder.
There’s no penalty against me for posting a cover version. The only
other time I had this was on a video I did exploring the original master
tapes of Tubular Bells by Mike Oldfield and breaking it down into the
separate instruments. Funnily enough Mike Oldfield was the reason I
first picked up an acoustic guitar at the age of 14.
