Oooh, you’re taking bold steps there Layton ( @Lange22 )😱 trying to finger pick around those shapes – very difficult move for an improv. But I guess sometimes you have to get out of your comfort zone to make progress and learn👍

Hope this is what your looking for👍

Hi @andy_e , Congrats on that #small win👍 I try to do mine first thing in the morning after I wake up – that way I get done (or started, at least) before daily life gets in the way. If I didn’t finish in the morning, then I finish in the evening before bed😎

Hi @Edith , Congrats on finishing the “30 Days To Play” course. You’ll find in the skills section (music notes icon at the far upper left of the screen) there is a “Strumming Jumpstart” course. But I suggest that you take the “Next 6 Chords” course before doing any of the “Jumpstart” courses! Hope you’re finding the journey fun and exciting🤩 so far. Keep up the good work👍

Oh man, that “No Hat” guy sure can play a good one👏👏 Oh wait, I think I see a hat on the dresser behind him🤔 – is that you @Marty69 ? Why yes, yes it is (LOL)🤣 But seriously, that was a great rendition Marty, I could sing some of the chorus along with your playing. I like the Black Mountain thumb pick better than the single piece thumb picks, how about you?

Hi @MoochasPoochas , Yes the tabs are there but the icon is invisible😱 If you scroll your mouse just slightly to the right of the red heart and click, it’ll bring up the tab. If you go too far to the right, then you’ll bring up the mp3 file for the backing track🤔 Hope this helps

Agree with @stevieblues 👍 @charlie_d 👏 the reverb sounded best because it gave your guitar a real voice, with was wonderful ( oh yea, you played that guitar and gave it the voice)🤩

Hi @Michelle-PSL , Happy 1st TACiversary🍾🎂👏👏 So glad to see your post – great stories and you made so much happen with your guitar journey in one year🤩 Very inspirational 👍👍 I remember the first time we met (virtually – lol) was in the GASing for Martins thread in the old Forums and how much fun it was to chat back and forth with all the Terrific Active Community! Anyways, I digress, hope Hubby is doing well and can’t wait to see what your journey will be like in year 2😎

MemberAugust 3, 2021 at 5:57 pm in reply to: D’Addario XS Phosphor Bronze Lights – First ImpressionsHi @JohnV I went to my local music store today in hopes of getting a set of Santa Cruz Low Tension Parabolic strings🤩, but they don’t carry them😱 They owed me a free string change, so I ended up settling for the Martin Lifespan 2.0 92/8 Phosphor Bronze Custom Light 11-52😐. Almost the same strings I had originally, except they were 13-54 gage. So I can bend these new strings much more easily, but I’m not totally thrilled with the sound they make when playing single notes on each of the strings. I find that for now, the lo E sounds kind of “tinny”, while the others sound a little softer than the heavier gage that I’m used to🤔. I’ll keep these on for a while, but I’m going to order the Santa Cruz strings and give them a try next time I’m ready to change these out👍
