Hi David ( @deagle ), another great performance!👏👏👏 Love your rendition👍👍 You asked us to post our favorite Dylan – I know that you mean for us to play it, but I have never tried to learn, so I’ll just say it…”Maggie’s Farm”… Just thinking about it brings me back to my youth – reminding me of the friends I had and wondering where they are now🤔

    Happy NGD 🤩 @D.A.N. 🎸 She’s a looker for sure😘

  • That is a wonderful rendition David ( @deagle )👏👏👏 Very nicely played👍👍 I learned that song using G – Bm – C chord progression. I could make out when you played the G & C chords, but not the Bm. Did you substitute the Bm or am I just not seeing it? This enquiring Guitar Geek would like to know!🤔

Hello @davefauquier@gmail.com , Welcome to TAC 👏👏 not sure about the lesson you’re referring to, but perhaps you’re talking about a “drone” string, where the scale is played along with an open string – perhaps the lo E or the A string being played with the thumb while your index and middle fingers are playing up and down the scale on the D & G or the G & B strings?🤔

  • That is awesome @HawaiiForrest 👍👍 You know it’s all good when the pups are having fun listening to that flat picking stuff that you’re throwing out there🤩 So sweet!😎

  • Well played @AttyTJ 👍👍 “Really Truly” 👏👏👏 Great rendition, you kept the tempo throughout and loved the way you did the lyrics🤩

Hi @davefauquier@gmail.com , I tried to answer you yesterday (2x), but for some reason the posts wouldn’t go through. so I’m going to try again today.

Yes, Tony is playing 2 strings together at the same time – consider them a pair. For this lesson, it starts with the A & D strings as a pair. The A string is played open (meaning it’s not fretted) while the blues melody is being fretted (played) on the D string. Your pick is striking both strings at the same time, every beat. It requires a little control of the picking hand to not strike other strings than the A & D strings. Then the pair changes to the D & G strings, but the fretting and picking pattern remains the same. If it still sounds bad to your ear, then make sure that your guitar is in proper tune. Hope this helps👍

  • So @dr_dave , you’re saying that he’s making that Am shape, but not barring – just using the index to cover the hi E at the 2nd fret? If that’s so (which seems perfectly logical), then I’m just not paying attention. I was looking for the barre🧐

  • So sweet😉 Gotta love that👍

Yes @Moonhare , @Mike-Gaurnier is totally correct👍 When you’re ready to buy, make sure that you check out as many guitars that you can before you pull the trigger😎 I also want to mention that the size designations mentioned above are those of a single guitar manufacturer – others will have their own size designations – but a dreadnought is a dreadnought – no matter the make of guitar👍

Hi @Larry-Mc , great to hear that your Jam Club is still active😀 Really feel bad that the Clubs are no longer supported by TAC – such a shame 🙁 I was hoping that through TAC, I could find people in my area to start a Club, but appears that it’s not in the cards, at least in my area 🤔 Best wishes for you guys👍
