👍That is some sound advice @Guy_H . Yes you can find a lot of that stuff on YT, but nobody explains it better than Tony! And from there you can jump right into “Fretboard Wizard” – which some of that stuff can be found elsewhere – but no one else teaches it like Tony🤩

Hi @Alisa , I did see a video on YT where someone was showing how to mute strings while strumming, and he suggested placing the heel of the palm across the strings that you want muted and doing so that your wrist is laying on the bridge. I hope that makes sense and helps you out👍

Hello @Moonhare , that was a great story and a great video. Sorry to hear about your friend – my sympathy to you and his family. On a brighter note, the T-shirt and pick are an awesome symbol of commitment and determination – Don’t Stop! The pain on the fingertips will go away at some point😎

Congrats on day 1 of 30 @Wickedpissah316 👏👏 Keep in mind, you can do as many lessons in a day as you can handle – or you can take as many days on a single lesson as you need – the sky is the limit and this is the great wide open! The lessons here are geared for acoustic but transfer easily to electric – to me, the acoustic is a little more challenging to handle – but that’s just my opinion. What’s important is that you’re having fun doing it to the point that you want to pick it up everyday and play😎

Yes @Lange22 , (Layton) Family is who I play for – their recognition means the world to me🤩

Hello @Dave.r.porter. , I agree with @dr_dave , you need that “Quiver of G arrows” 😱- you need to be able to play a G chord with any type of finger configuration that has been mentioned by all above. Some you’ll need for tone/sound, others you’ll need for easy/speed transitions, and some you’ll need because you have to fret single notes between transitions (i.e. leaving certain fingers free to fret those notes). So you should be prepared to play that G chord in any circumstance that’s dictated👍

That sounds wonderful @Michelle-PSL 👍 Will Hubby be jelly? Go to the jam and see how you like it – that will give you an idea of what’s ahead😎

Hello @CliffyB , I just want to say that anytime I’ve compared a Martin with any other guitar brand in the same price range – to my ear – the Martin has always won out. That being said, I’ve never touched a guitar close to that $4300 price range😱 Make sure the particular GC store your dealing with is an authorized brand dealer – not all are. An authorized dealer will set up the guitar to your liking and it is included in the price of the guitar – others will charge extra for the set up. Sounds to me that that Zager is the ticket for you now – just make sure you get it set up properly 😎

Yes @FatherTime603 @AngelArmez @richfromvancouver , 👏👏👏 I applaud all of you – keeping it fun keeps it real 👍

🤩👍🤩 “Really Truly” Layton @Lange22

That’s great @mkjohnsons (Mark) that you’re trying to do this. Don’t give up – slow and steady wins the race! You won’t realize this now, but in several months or so down the road – we’ll be doing this lesson again – and that’s when it’ll come together for you and you’ll be able to see the progress you’ve made for yourself – it will happen
