Hi @athowse , the Octave exercise that Tony’s referring to is in the very 1st lesson of the “Foundational 5”. Go through that 1st video and you’ll see what he’s talking about. Also, there’s a “Materials” tab that appears at the beginning. If you click on that, you’ll be able to download a tab called “Easy Octave Patterns” that shows the exercise.
Good luck on your journey!

MemberFebruary 5, 2022 at 9:14 am in reply to: A good Acoustic – Electric guitar with rich soundHi @docbrandonb , My experience with “plug-in” acoustics has been limited to Taylor & Martin guitars. I prefer the sound of Martin over Taylor, unplugged. But plugged-in, I think the Taylor’s sound nicer – maybe because Taylor makes their own electronics designed for their guitars, and Martin uses another vendor’s product (Fishman) that isn’t designed specifically for the Martin sound. Just my 2 cents.

👏👏👏 @Lange22 😎 Nice work Layton, I like how you incorporated parts of Tuesday’s Lick into your improv, particularly the well timed A chord👍👍

That was so well played @ErikBog 👏👏👏 You and your guitar made some beautiful music with that piece – excellent👍👍 I guess that after 4 years, you reach a point and have to ask yourself, “What else can TAC do for me?” I see that you’ve reached that point and have come to a decision – a decision that only you can make. I wish you the best for your journey moving forward, you will be missed here in TACland.
Peace

Glad to hear that you’re “stickin'” @Cadgirl 👍👍, and happy 1st TACiversary🎂(in advance)🎉🎈🎉 My 1st was in December, and I also pondered prior to that, wether to stay or go🤔 I wasn’t happy about the format change back in March. I felt that things were not as “cohesive” in the Community as a result of the change. But at that point, I decided that I was going to make it more about my journey. I’ve seen vast improvement in my playing and music theory knowledge, and I knew that I could see more improvement if I stuck with the program, and so I did. That’s why I decided to stay on board for another go-around. Hope you find the same Cadgirl.

My lighter is lit up and I’m screaming for more👏👏👏 The crowd is chanting “encore, encore.” And with each chant, it’s getting louder, as more and more of the crowd joins in, “encore🔈, Encore🔉, ENCORE🔊, ENCORE🔊🔊!”
Can you hear them @Daniel_Morin ? I can hear them perfectly in my mind, such a great boogie creation, so well done…”Really Truly”. Thanks for that performance, it was awesome🤩🤩 and so much fun to listen to.
Oh yes, by the way, happy 4th TACiversary🎂 May you have manny, manny more!!!

Hi @Dirk_R , sorry to hear that your shoulder is still giving you problems. Has your doctor mentioned anything about cortisone/steroid shots for the shoulder? Sometimes this is offered as a last option before having to do surgery. I for one would try anything before going ahead with surgery.

Awesome @KevinZ 🤩👏👏👏🤩That tune really had my head bobbin’ and foot stompin’👍😎👍 I appreciate all the effort that you put into your performances, I “Really Truly” enjoy watching and listening 🤩thanks for posting!

@Fletch , you lost weight😱 (LOL)🤣🤣
Sorry, maybe that wasn’t funny, forgive me please Fletch. But I couldn’t help myself. While looking at the bobble head and listening to that great original song that you and @stevep created👏👏👏, I was trying to think of something clever to say. It is a good likeness of you, maybe you could get a bobble-head made of Steve P, and we could watch you both perform the SWR Project work together🤔

Hi @Marisa , every time you log into the site, check the TAC Support page. At the bottom center – below where it says “Tony’s Acoustic Challenge”(small print), you’ll see “Fretboard Wizard” when it’s available for sign-up. If you don’t see it there, it’s not available. So keep checking – when it’s there, it’s only there for a very short time.
Good hunting👍

Hi @Chum ,welcome to TAC. The Blues Shuffle is about using your fretting hand fingers and placing them on the correct frets in the correct order to get the “Shuffle” going. The “Blues Bassline” is all about learning pick direction. The idea behind these lessons is to understand the basic concept presented in each lesson – it’s not about mastering them. If you have spent a minimum of 10 minutes, but maybe can’t execute like what you see on the play video, but grasp the concept behind the lessons, go ahead and mark them complete and move on – you can always come back to them at any time you want. Again, try for a minimum of 10 minutes. If you grasp the concept behind the lesson – weather or not you have trouble executing (playing it like you see on the “play” video) – it’s ok to move on to the next lesson. This isn’t about mastering the lessons at this point, it’s about understanding the concepts presented in the lessons and having FUN while learning. I wish you the best during your journey here at TAC👍
