@Stickmaker Barre chords can be a bad itch (with a b preceding it), but you’ll eventually find that sweet spot and be able to play them. Great win showing up and giving it a good go!

Awesome Ukulelebug! How did you carve it? How did you get the dimensions correct? Bone saddles smoke a world of difference. Great job!

Jacquelyn, I definitely recommend the 30 days to play first, and then the Next 6 chords after that, and it’s a lot more fun for beginners, and you’ll learn a lot of foundational skills that you can use in the daily challenges. And yes, they are challenges. If they were easy, we’d all be rock stars – LOL.

You had a definite win today – You attempted the daily challenge, practiced the minimum of 10 minutes, attempted new chords (barre chords are difficult and will come later in your playing), and you had the lightbulb moment that maybe you should focus on some more basic skill building. It won’t affect your ‘counter’ by doing the 30 days to play versus the daily challenge. You receive credit just for showing up on the TAC site.

Hang in there, regroup, and start the 30 days to play and have some fun!

@MamaMedic I’m sorry you’re frustrated. When you say Lesson 1, is that in the 30 days to play or the daily challenge? If it’s the 30 days to play, take a step back, mark the lesson complete and move onto the next lesson. You can return to the first lesson any time you want, but the goal is to keep moving forward if possible and to develope a steady practice routine. The lessons are not meant to be perfected but to progress upon what we’ve practiced and learned. Hang tough and keep trying. You’ll realize in a short period of time that you’re making progress. The guitar is a difficult instrument to play, but commitment to a minimum of 10 minutes a day is all that’s really suggested (and to have fun).

Nice win @Stickmaker – Never give up hope. It will get easier, and you’ll build muscle memory and soon know what fingers to use without much thought!

@TheGreek Congratulations on your NGD!! Can’t wait to see and hear it (maybe post a few photos). Sounds like your off and running with your practice routine.

Jacqueline, Sounds as if you found a work around for it eventually, and you improved through noodling and fingerpicking. Great wins. As for the superimposed dots, that sounds like a great suggestion for the service desk. Shoot them a message suggesting it.

Hi @Geordie I’ve noticed a few instances where the tabs might differ slightly from the lessons, but I can’t say I’ve noticed it a lot. My suggestion is to write the service desk and ask them about the incorrect tabs. Be as specific as you can (lesson date, name, and what’s incorrect in the tabs.

@Dirk_R Maybe something came up for Dennis. Make sure you’re converting Alaska time to CST.

What a very cool purchase Rando! Congrats, and she is a beaut. You’ll have to play her for us. And yes, it seems there’s a lot of new guitars floating about!
