I just gave blood last week, so I completely understand. Very nice performance.

Even the time you’re still permitting yourself to play sounds like a lot, especially with working full time, a husband, a household, etc. But, the lesser time does sound more realistic and healthy. Keep at it!

@Master-TJ and @Theorose The old site listed the bpms at 3 different speeds. The current site uses 1x, 1.5x and 2x. I believe this is what has replaced the previous 3 bpm speeds.

Hi Robert – Unfortunately there isn’t an easy answer to your question. It is going to take practice and lots of it. My suggestion is keep building muscle memory and finger strength through practice, and you will one day play a clear mini-F. I find that to play a clear mini-F barre chord, I have to roll all my fingers (including those on the G & D) and angle them towards the headstock. That puts just the right amount of tension on my fretting fingers and rolls the index finger level on the B & high e. Make sure that your G&D are fretted on the tips of the fingers before angling them first. I’m not sure where you are in lessons, but there is the Next Six Chords immediately following the 30 days to play, and that covers the mini and the full F barre chords. Under the skills section there is also a course, Better Barre Chords, which also might be beneficial. But the best answer is to just keep practicing it (daily if possible).

Hey @Killer and welcome to TAC. Great question, and I can see how it might feel overwhelming after completing the 30 day challenge. You can start on anything you like, as this is your guitar journey. I found the strumming, flatpicking jumpstart and fingerpicking jumpstart great places to start. If you haven’t taken the stretching course, that would probably be first on my list. Better barre chords was another great one to start with. However, you can do them in any order you choose. Start with asking yourself what you’re interested in. If you’re not sure, start with the courses above. I believe some new 5 day challenge courses have been added recently. I haven’t had an opportunity to look at them yet, but those might be great places too. Have you put together a 90 day goal yet? What do you want to accomplish within the next 90 days?

Absolutely alright to play on both guitars @campfire . I think it’s a great way to practice and learn on both instruments.

@Killer I do understand what you are looking for, but TAC believes in each individual mapping out their goals and putting a practice plan together. Just an FYI, within each course, the lessons are set up in the manner you’re looking for. You complete the first lesson in a course and then mark it complete and move to the next lesson. Within each course, the lessons do build upon each other. Hope this helps.

It is distorted at the higher speed. It’s like Speedy Gonzales gone spazzy. I don’t remember it being like that on the old site. I always thought the higher speed was how it was actually being played and then it was just slowed down for the 2 lower speeds. Now it seems the reverse with the lower speed being how it was played and then just being sped up for the higher two speeds.
