@Moonhare Congratulations! That was excellent! Yep, Larkin Poe are really fantastic, glad to see other fans in the TAC family. And real kudos for including the vocals, well done!

@Moonhare here’s a link from Acoustic Guitar magazine. It’s a very cool blues progression in DADGAD with Al Petteway. If you’re not familiar with Al, check him out. He’s a very accomplished finger style guitarist in the US.

@Moonhare that was fantastic! I love the backstory to your tune!
My Dad was a bombardier on B-17’s flying out of Bassingbourn so I have a keen interest in all things aviation related to WWII. I was not familiar with DADGAD tuning until about 6 months ago and since then have been playing around with it, but need to do more. I came across a really cool blues progression in DADGAD I’ve been working at. If you’re interested in it let me know and I can message it to you. You’ve inspired me to get back to DADGAD!

I actually have learning “Can’t Find My Way Home” as a goal for this quarter. I’ve just started to research and found 3 different tunings; Standard, Drop D, and Open D. Looks you’re using Drop D. Curious if you tried the other tunings, and Drop D was your preference? I’ll check out the Winwood video you referenced.

Thanks so much Darren, this is so true! You really have to put it into perspective and recognize how a consistent routine moves you along the guitar journey.

Many thanks @albert_d. It was actually a stroke of luck. The neighbor and I had never discussed guitars before. They invited us over for a drink around the holidays and guitars came up in a conversation. Before I could say anything, my wife said oh Ted is learning the play the guitar. In a moment I was invited into the front room where another guy was playing. The neighbor handed me an old Yamaha and the jamming began. We’ve played a couple of times and need to try and get a routine down and play more, it’s a start.
