Really appreciate your 2-year TACiversary musings @Al.E
Do wish you continued progress and success for your very best acoustic life this TAC year.
Just like you I thought my aged fingers could not stretch or barre the frets but as I just passed my 1st TACiversary, I too, have started to make it happen. Like you, I prefer being “old school” visual learner (print the daily tabs) so I can write notes to myself. I do like how you repeat each of the current week’s challenges as you progress through the week. I will try that as I had been just doing each on the day then moving on to the next without a thought of making them an ongoing process. I have noticed there is a cycle of sorts in the weekly challenges and found my second time around doing them easier. I am a repetitive learner for sure.
Huge win regarding your weight reduction too! Congratulations!

It’s Bo Time. Well done @Marty69 I helped the NGDB set up a concert in Lakeland, Florida in 1972. The band and roadies were great guys. Concert was made more memorable for me since I got to interact with them. Always good to hear you get down to the nitty gritty @Marty69 ! ☮️✌️

Playing loose is far better than tight. After all, we do this for fun. Always a pleasure to watch you @Marisa

Very inspirational to us a couple years behind you @albert_d – impressed with your relaxed playing – really demonstrates your joy of accomplishment. Wishing you many more years of enjoyment and success!

@SciencePete – while I am a fairly novice picker myself I would suspect to anchor or not anchor is a matter of personal preference. Personally, I like to know where my thumb is related to the bass E string.
Have you watched Tony’s “Fingerpicking Jumpstart” skill course yet? That helped to guide me on the basics.
Hopefully someone more experienced will provide you with a definitive answer.
I find fingerpicking more to my liking than strumming. Enjoy it!

Very good first PFU @saskia! Really consistent picking. Lovely lyrics. Congratulations on navigating the recording and uploading too! Impressed you have been in our TAC community less than 6 months. Play on!

Perhaps we North Carolina guitar geeks can get together at some future time. Mike G., who has helped me navigate TAC and encouraged my participation in VOM, and I had an introductory meeting a few months back. Hoping to repeat that.

Virtual Open Mic – where guitar geeks use Zoom to get together and play. Doesn’t matter where on Earth you are. Although not sponsored by TAC there are sites that offer such live play connections by volunteer hosts.

Thank you @Marty69 – for me it’s a big deal. My son-in-law notices a marked difference in my playing from last year to now. I still have a long way to go to keep up with him as he has been a dedicated guitarist since age 12 (performed professionally in his 20’s) and just had his 36th birthday. He has accumulated many drool-worthy guitars over the years.
For a birthday gift I got him Eric Clapton’s “Six-String Stories” book detailing the guitars “Slow Hand” has had in his guitar journey. The book is exquisite (at least in the mind of guitar geeks).
Appreciate each of your forum plays and comments!
