You can start the daily challenges whenever you like. It seems intimidating to start (at least it did to me) then I realised you do not have to perfect them or even play at a certain speed. Just try to follow along for 10 mins or so. Gradually what happens is the techniques start to seep into your playing by osmosis. You won’t even realize until two or three months down the road you start to get a few more easily. It’s my one year this weekend and I cannot believe where I am just by turning up each day even if I can’t get something. The process works if you hive it time. Best of luck and welcome to TAC. As Mike said at the most simple level a laptop should have a camera and mic which will be enough to make a basic video of you playing but you will need some form of software/app on there to actually make the recording happen. There will be a learning curve here but assuming you are using a pc laptop then you will already have an app called Camera that can use your in built camera and mic to record. Here is a guide to that process that may help.

Obviously there are better ways to do this but the level of complexity steps up rather rapidly and you are better off learning the basics first then maybe if you get familiar with that, stepping up to the next level will not feel so daunting.

That’s brilliant. Barre chords are the thing that stop me in my tracks when it comes to chord changes. One day It’ll happen, but well done on your win. Onwards and upwards! 🤟😎🎸

That guitar sounds amazing (playing is not bad either!!). Seriously though really great performance – love the laid back feel of this piece. 🤟😎🎸

Great stuff. Like so many of us you get out what you put in and it sounds like things have worked out well for you. I hope that the coming year you get to carry on making the improvements you hope to. Keep on rockin! 🤟😎🎸

Well you beat me to it by a few weeks but I’m really glad you had a great year. Sounds so positive and I know from the interactions we’ve had how great it is to be part of the community. So onwards and upwards my friend. See you at the end of year two (which I suspect because of the laws of space and time you will beat me to yet again!). 🤟😎🎸

That’s great. Sounds like you had a really productive week. Are you thinking of posting any for us to listen to on the ‘Play for us’ forum?

That’s fab. I actually don’t know what I’m on because although I haven’t missed a day for at least 180 days there were a couple where I forgot to log in at the weekend and reset my counter! Very frustrating. Anyway keep on rockin 🤟😎🎸

Keep at it. Even just picking up the guitar and getting used to picking, musical or otherwise, will get your fingers moving. Just a few minutes a day and it will start to sink in. 40 years I dabbled but got into the routine through TAC and now it is part of my daily life. It does work. Good luck on your journey. Even if you don’t post it I think recording yourself is a great habit to get into because you’ll be able to go back later and see just how far you’ve come. I’ve posted some vids with fluffs and gaffs in and now I’m at the end of year 1 this weekend I’m going back to see what’s happened over that first 12 months. But well done on your discipline nonetheless. It will pay dividends I’m sure. 🤟😎🎸

There are plenty of VOMs on the Just Music Geeks website which was set up by TAC members to fill the gap when Covid hit. They are great fun to either listen or take part.

Thanks. Wasn’t sure quite how to do a blues when I’m not that blue so decided to just have a bit of fun with it.

Thanks. It was just meant to be a bit of fun but it’s the road we’re all on eventually I guess!
