Hi @Lori.MT , I had a very similar experience that you described. I was playing a song at the SNL VOM a couple of months ago when near the end of the song, I had a brain freeze – I couldn’t remember the next verse and had to stop playing. Check out my post about that night:

Everyone who attended that VOM was so supportive and encouraging despite my mishap. So I believe that @Carol-3M-Stillhand ‘s suggestion about the VOM’s is a good way to go👍

What a beautiful sounding instrumental @Daniel_Morin 👏👏👏 Another great original👍👍 I enjoy your playing style, the way you emphasize particular notes of the chords you play using your middle, ring and pinky fingers while strumming the chords with that invisible pick (lol) you hold between your index and thumb (lol)😎 I remember when you showed me that pick at a VOM several weeks ago🤣

Great rendition @Marty69 👏👏👏 How do you like that thumb pick compared to the BM? I find that single piece style to be uncomfortable, it squeezes my fat thumb too much😱

Hi @That_Guy , nice rendition👏👏 You seemed to maintain the strumming pattern and tempo throughout👍👍 It looked like you were giving your wrist a real good workout there😱 Have you tried using more of your elbow to do the strumming? I know it may be a little harder at first (especially when playing a dread in a seated position) but I believe you’ll have better control of the pick while strumming😎 Oh, by the way, that is a really nice looking guitar🤩 Can’t wait to hear the “final version”!

@Edith , I would recommend doing the other “Jumpstart” courses after completing the “Strumming Jumpstart”. And from there, you should do some of the technique courses, like “Fretting Hand Toolbox” or something else that interests you. Eventually, you should do the “Foundations of Fretboard Navigation” to get a little taste of simple music theory, and at some point you should do “Fretboard Wizard”🤩 This is a path that I suggest Edith, because it has worked well for me. Others may suggest different paths🤔, but I’m certain the above courses would be included👍 The main thing is to have fun doing whatever you choose to do with your journey😎

Yes @That_Guy , but they are standing, not seated🤔 And I bet they’re finger or flat picking single notes in these photos (nice photos by the way) where the motion is in the wrist, and when they strum full chords, the motion is from the elbow👍
