Hi Ben ( @Ben_rohrer@hotmail.com ) Welcome to TAC👏👏 You made a great choice👍 Everything you learn here is transferable to an electric guitar. There are a lot of members that have electric guitars in their “guitarsenal”😎 It wouldn’t hurt to get an acoustic, but it’s not a requirement.

Hi @jimhat , I think Fender makes some half decent all wood acoustic guitars in that price range and less🤩. They should be easy to find at a local music shop. Have you tried Craigslist?🤔

Hi @P2H , One thing that I can say is to try doing it slowly – as slow as you need to go in order to play the correct strings. Try doing the pattern using the A & lo E strings only. Try doing it on your own, without the video. Once you have it down on those 2 strings, then try adding in the other sets of strings – still doing it slowly. Once you fell confident that you can do it, then try increasing speed – a little bit at a time.

If you still have trouble doing it, and it’s frustrating you, then just move on – you can come back to it at some other time when you feel like trying it again👍 The point here is to have fun – not frustration – keep that in mind when you run into other stumbling blocks in your journey.
