I didn’t worry about timing or anything, sometimes just hummed till I could find that note. Once you can do that, Tony’s improvisation lick made a little more sense and I could play along. I was using Wednesday’s Four Eyes.

I am understanding Music Theory a little better but seeing it presented by someone else sometimes makes a world of difference.

first off @Al.E, losing 85lbs is much more than a small win! Sounds like you are doing great with what you have done in the past 2 years and now.. onward to our 3rd year.

I agree with @Loraine. Take it easy and talk to your doctor about stretches. I am sure you hated taking that much time off. Have you ever considered slide guitar? The kind where you place the guitar on your lap and use a slide to find the notes?

Well, @Timbothirroul …. I can’t wait to hear the song you will be coming up with to go along with that tempo.

@Mrfredsporty , welcome to TAC. I never used a pick till joining TAC. I still like to finger pick, but I have found a pick is really nice to have. I have learned to actually strum a song which I never thought I would be able to do without it twanging super loud. You’ll get the hang of it. Just give it a little time.

WOW! 275 days, that is great. I can’t make it too 100. I was all the way up to 76 and i missed a day i can’t believe it. For you to go that long is fantastic. Good for you. Keep it going.

WOW , that is a lot to get done for a ‘small’ win. The Acoustic Tuesday did make me start thinking about playing around with a slide guitar. Thank you for your post. I’ll look into the Skill Course that is offered on the site.

The ideal range (from what I have read) is 45 – 55%, but 40 – 60% is ok too. I’m going to assume you have a hard shell case. They are excellent protection against humidity and temperatures. So on those days that a storm comes through and you don’t have power for a few days, pop your guitar back in it’s case. I would recommend a humidity meter for the room you keep your guitar in. They are pretty cheap, right around $15. You’ll probably be fine because your air conditioner will take care of a lot of the humidity for you. But, with a gage, you’ll know for sure. I’m a Michigan girl and I fight with the humidity dropping into the 10% in the winter time. I run a humidifier to help. You have the opposite problem. Good luck and enjoy that guitar.

@SciencePete , I anchor my pinky on the thinnest string. I don’t know if that is a bad habit or not. Because sometimes I have to un anchor it to play that string. I usually do ok with it, but for a moment my picking fingers all freak out. Your idea of anchoring to the sound boards makes more sense. Good Luck.
